Fishtail Hairstyle

Hairstyles with oblique fishtails are very popular today - the presentation of collections of many designers who have a powerful word in the fashion world, today rarely go without these convoluted braids.

What is a fish tail?

Beautiful fish tail hair styles are difficult to implement independently: it is desirable to have an assistant next to you, who will either prompt you where to send the strand, or he will make a haircut. The complexity of weaving the fish tail is explained by the fact that for the creation of a complex hairstyle with the technique of the fish tail, a hairdresser is often consulted, especially if it is an evening version.

But it's easy to make a fishtail's hair on its own side - in this case you can see the result of work in the mirror during the process of creating a hairstyle, and thus it is quite easy to avoid any errors.

Technically, the most difficult variant of the fish tail is the spikelet - when the braid begins in the crown area. Therefore, in order to thoroughly master the technique of the fish tail and be able to make different versions of it, it is better to practice in weaving complex braids.

When the technology of the fish tail is mastered, one can proceed to another - the tail fish's haircut on the contrary, in which two strands are involved, which are woven not on top of the base, as usual, but under them.

Hairstyle of fish tail-spikelet

Before weaving the fish tail, we need to prepare the hair - wash and lay with the help of styling. If the hair will "crumble", then this will complicate the weaving. To prevent this from happening, use foam or a spray for styling with an average or low fixation level:

  1. Before you make a fish tail, comb the locks and collect a large strand of hair from the forehead - along with the bang line, if the bang is long, or without the bang line, if the bangs are short . The approximate width of the coverage is up to the temporal zones.
  2. Divide the selected strand into 2 parts.
  3. The right strand is divided into two parts, and we brace the edge around the neighboring one.
  4. Repeat the same with the left strand - select a part from it from the outside, and then toss it inside the originally divided strand. The result is a cross.
  5. Now comes an important point - the collection of loose strands - the main difference between the technique of the spikelet and the rest. The main task is to weave uniform free-lying strands into the braid. Try to make strands of uniform thickness, so that the fish tail-spike turns out harmonious. Also, pay attention to the levels - imagine in advance what level of strands will be woven at which stage, so that by the time the braid goes beyond the basal weaving (at the back of the head), there were no loose strands needing to be weaved into the main braid. So, holding the main strands selected in the second step, as well as the additional strips - split off from them at the third and fourth step, pinch another thin one from the right main strand. And also attach to it a loose strand, taken from the temporal region. As in the third and fourth step, braid new thin strands inward.
  6. Repeat the action with the left strand - separate the small strand from the main one. Then attach to it the loose, taken from the temple, and weave so that the cross again turns out.
  7. Continue this pattern, choosing uniform strands, until all loose curls are woven. To change the appearance of the fish tail, it is enough to change the thickness of the strands - the large strands will not hold so firmly, but they are easier to weave. Thin strands - the classical form of the fish tail, stay in a pigtail for a long time and look laced.
  8. When the pigtail starts to move into the free phase and there are no loose strands, divide the braid into two parts, as in the very beginning.
  9. After that, weave the strands in ourselves - take the lateral thin strands from the main ones and weave them inward to the end.
