Caucasian national clothes

The features and traditions of the peoples of the North Caucasus are well reflected in the so-called Caucasian style of clothing. National costume is a set of similar features of culture and life of the peoples of the Caucasus, which have developed over a long period of time.

Caucasian women's clothing

Clothing of Caucasian women is quite diverse depending on the terrain. The style of the women's suit was similar to that of a man - the dress was similar to a man's "Circassian", also in outerwear - a jacket on cotton wool looked like a man's "beshmet".

The main national Caucasian women's clothing is called, like most nationalities, a dress. Outer clothing is represented by a caftan. In the women's costume, of course, there was more variety than in the male, and the decor is richer.

At its core, the ethnic clothing of the Caucasian peoples has many similarities, which indicates the common traditions and aesthetic perception of the peoples of the Caucasus.

Materials and finishing

For tailoring dresses, poor Caucasian women used homespun cloth, which was of high quality. The clothes of the Caucasian girls of the upper class were sewed from the imported expensive materials - silk, satin, velvet. Since the style of the dress assumed an extended downward puffy skirt, then the tailoring of one dress took more than five meters of material.

Girls from rich families began to learn the art of applied character from the age of five. They studied embroidery in gold and pearls, weaving different kinds of braids.

By the time the girl was ready to go under the aisle, she already had a wedding dress ready. With handmade embroidery in gold, girls who served in the servants helped.

The patterns and ornaments on the wedding dress could be either minimalistic or massive - everything depended on the personal preferences and wealth of the bride's family.
