Facades for kitchens

Fronts are called the front part of the kitchen furniture and the doors of the cupboards. They can be made from different materials, and the choice of a particular material is extremely important. It is the facades, as a rule, occupy the lion's share in the cost of the kitchen as a whole.

Types of facades for the kitchen

The classical option is the wooden facades for the kitchen. They are more appropriate in spacious kitchens, since in small-sized ones they will look somewhat cumbersome.

Wooden facades create a pleasant, cozy atmosphere, besides they are ecologically clean and natural. There are solid and paneled wooden facades. The first are rather expensive in production, besides they are not very reliable in terms of sensitivity to moisture and temperature changes. Over time, without proper care in such facades, cracks and deformations may appear.

The paneled facades are more common, they are a frame made of solid wood with internal filling of MDF or chipboard. This combination of materials makes the facades more resistant to deformations, besides, their cost is considerably cheaper. Looks the same facades at the same time no worse than if they were made from an array.

MDF facades for the kitchen today are the most common. This is due to the high strength of the material, the ability to give it any shape (including the possibility of making curved facades for the kitchen), good resistance to changes in temperature and moisture. In addition, this material can be decorated with various coatings - enamel paint, PVC film, natural veneer, plastic. This greatly expands the stylistic possibilities for the manufacture of kitchen furniture.

Especially popular today are painted facades for the kitchen, when a prepared MDF substrate is applied several layers of enamel, dried and polished. The advantage of this method of decoration in a rich choice of colors and shades. It is also possible to artificially age the facade for the kitchen (patina).

Plastic facades for kitchen are made by gluing plastic on MDF or chipboard. The ends of such facades for the kitchen are acrylic, that is covered with acrylic edge. The plastic coating gives the facades high mechanical strength, resistance to temperature changes, moisture and the effects of detergents. The disadvantage is that glossy facades for the kitchen easily remain fingerprints, and matte facades are poorly washed away.

Frame facades for the kitchen is a profile made of MDF, into which a filling made of particleboard, plastic, glass, mirror, rattan etc. is inserted. In this case, the MDF-profile is lined with natural veneer or a film. This freedom of action is especially attractive from the design point of view. However, it is necessary to take into account the forthcoming difficulties with washing such facades.

DSP-facades for the kitchen are the simplest and budget option. Of this material, frames of furniture are made, but it is undesirable to choose it for the facades, they look like they simply do not satisfy the requirements for kitchen facades in this case.

The so-called aluminum facades for the kitchen, or rather - based on the aluminum profile, are an aluminum frame with any filling - made of plastic, MDF, glass, rattan. Such facades with glass filling are ideal for high-tech style. They are completely immune to moisture and temperature extremes, and also give rich opportunities for combining materials and applying photoimages. It should be taken into account that aluminum is easily scratched and when using some detergents it can be covered with white coating.
