Glycerin for the skin

Glycerin has earned fame as an effective moisturizer. The trihydric alcohol, transparent and odorless, is hygroscopic and unlimitedly soluble in water.

Cosmetic properties of glycerin

It "draws" moisture from the surrounding air and saturates the skin, forming a kind of protective diaper. However, glycerine is useful for the face skin only in conditions of a moist climate (at least 45-65%), otherwise the substance will pull water molecules directly from the epidermis, dooming it to dryness and dehydration.

You can not use glycerin in a pure, undiluted form - that is why in cosmetic preparations this substance (in the concentration of 5-7%) is always supplemented with other components.

Moisturize the face

Another plus of glycerin is its ability to protect the skin from the effects of the external environment, which is very important in winter (but not in summer in a dry climate, do not forget!). In the protective "winter" creams necessarily have glycerin, by the way, from early wrinkles, this tool also helps to hedge.

Owners of problem skin glycerin will help get rid of acne. It is quite easy to prepare a therapeutic lotion for which you will need:

• 1 spoon of ammonia;
• 2 spoons of cologne (preferably the best);
• 1 tablespoon of glycerin;
• 4 tablespoons of water.

Do not be lazy

To buy a ready-made cream or mask, of course, is very simple. But sometimes it is worth preparing them with your own hands and do not doubt the naturalness of the components. Pampered skin will help the following masks with glycerin:

• moisturizing - a spoonful of glycerin, 2 tablespoons of water, egg yolk;
• Cleansing - a spoonful of glycerin, 3 tablespoons of water, cosmetic clay (blue, white, green);
• toning - a spoonful of glycerin, 2 tablespoons of water, a spoonful of cream or fatty sour cream, a slice of lemon (chopped with zest).

Note: Face mask with glycerin should be applied to the skin for 15 minutes.

Glycerin also moisturizes the hair. Very effective for visited and dull hair mask with vinegar and glycerin:

1 egg, 2 tablespoons ricin oil (castor oil), a spoonful of glycerin, a spoonful of table vinegar - all components are beaten, applied to the roots of the hair; head should be wrapped in a towel, and wash off the mask after half an hour.

Velvet hands

The common problem of all the hostesses is dry skin of hands, crushed cracks and peeling due to contact with water, dust and detergents. Often even the best creams fail to provide the proper moisturizing effect. An ancient and proven method is a hand liquid with glycerine - a "stinker" bolt, consisting of ammonia, triple cologne and glycerin (in equal proportions). The mixture is applied to the handles at night, from above it is better to put on soft mittens. In the morning the skin will look healthy and silky. And the sharp smell will erode already in five minutes after drawing of a liquid on a skin.

Masks for pens

If you do not like sympathy to the stinker-"stink", dryness will help to overcome the hand mask with glycerin.

1. It will take: a spoonful of honey, a spoonful of glycerin, 2 tablespoons of water, a spoonful of wheat or oatmeal. The ingredients are mixed, the gruel is applied to the handles for 30 minutes.
2. It will take: 1 boiled potato, 2 tablespoons of milk, 1 egg yolk, 1 spoonful of honey and vegetable oil, a spoonful of glycerin, 2 tablespoons of water. Murphy should be crushed with mashed potatoes, add milk and other ingredients. The mask should be kept for 15 minutes. The recipe is especially relevant for very dry skin.

If the mask is not enough zeal, and the handles are hungry for moisturizing, you need at least to acquire glycerin soap and buy a hand cream with glycerin.
