Description

The blue market of Sharjah is called because of the hundreds of thousands of blue tiles that cover the building. The market has 2 wings, in which there are more than 600 stores. The buildings are connected by pedestrian crossings. From the first to the second floor it is easy to climb the escalator. For air cooling, air conditioners and wind towers, used since ancient times, are used. In cafes and eateries you can sit, take a breath, drink coffee or tea, so that you can continue shopping with new strength. Usually visitors spend here for several hours.

On the first floor you can buy:

On the second floor are sold:

Of course, bargaining here is the main rule, so do not hesitate to throw off the price, even if you have never done so. Here you can buy a unique experience. For starters, you should take tea, coffee or sweets, which the seller will offer, and then smile and get down to business. After the buyer chooses the items of interest, the owner will name the price. He can do it either verbally or on a calculator. If the language barrier is insurmountable, you can also use the calculator for a counter offer. In any case, it is worth to offer half of the asking price. According to the seller's reaction, one can understand how much the thing really costs.

The market opens at 9:00 and runs until 23:00 with a short break. It works every day except Friday.
