When the house comes in large repair work, of course, I want to produce them as quickly as possible and at no extra cost. Therefore, when it comes to laying floor tiles, as a rule, many take it on their own.
This work is not difficult, therefore does not require special skills of the builder. However, before starting it, you should familiarize yourself with the basic rules for laying floor tiles. After all, the quality of the work depends on the life of the coating obtained. There are many different options for laying floor tiles : herringbone, staggered, with a slope, etc. In our master class, we show you how to lay the tile on the floor in the form of a carpet, combining a large tile with a small one. For this we need:
- ceramic tiles of two types: 20x20 mm and 5x5 mm;
- glue;
- comb (notched trowel);
- primer;
- level;
- crosses for laying floor tiles;
- rubber hammer;
- maklovitsa;
- grout for seams.
Technology of laying floor tiles with their own hands
- First of all, make sure that the floor is perfectly flat. Otherwise it is necessary to do the screed . If everything is in order, we cover the surface with a primer with the help of a mackerel.
- The next stage of laying floor tiles with your own hands is applying glue. The mixture is applied to the floor and to the tile. Evenly distribute the glue on the surface with a comb. The tool is held perpendicular to the surface or at the same angle.
- Exactly apply the tile to the floor and tap it lightly with a rubber mallet. Further in the same way we continue laying floor tiles with our own hands.
- When the first row is laid, level check the smoothness of the surface.
- At the intersection of the seams we insert plastic crosses.
- In each successive series, we tile the tile with a hammer to the previous one. Remove the excess adhesive by using a spatula.
- Now the final stage has come. We spread the grout for the seams with water and squeeze it with spatulas in between the plates. Surplus wipe dry with a rag.
