Oludeniz Bay in Turkey is located just 15 km from Fethiye - the most popular resort. Its name in Turkish means "dead sea", however, nothing else this area with its Israeli "namesake" is not connected. On the contrary, this is an amazing place in beauty, not inferior to the picturesque landscapes of the leading sea resorts of Spain and France. The town, consisting mainly of hotels, modestly hides in the mountains, without claiming to be in charge of nature.
A few years ago this place was a kind of branch of paradise on earth, a real blue lagoon, but recently impressions spoil the inaccurate constructions of resort complexes, which grew rapidly near the coast, and from a favorite place for seclusion of tourists who love silence, Oludeniz turned into a recreation area noisy families with children. Nevertheless, the natural beauty of the beaches is carefully guarded at the state level, since this place has the status of a national park.
Beaches of Oludeniz
In Oludeniz there are three luxury beaches, among which every guest of the village can find exactly the one that will answer his needs and requests.
- Laguna Beach is a picturesque coastal strip that ends with a scythe leaving into the sea, which is called the Cleopatra Beach or in another way, not so picturesquely - Tortoise Island. The beach and the water area are fenced with nets, in order to provide maximum peace and security to the vacationers, saving the obsessive rumble of scooters and boats. This is an ideal place to relax with children, as well as active recreation for marine sports.
- Kidrak beach is a secluded place, which is also called Paradise Beach. Located in a relative distance - at a distance of about 2 km from the village. Striking natural beauty - white sand and green more massive than pine. It is on this beach that the cleanest sea is observed in all Oludeniz, striking with its transparency and color, in which all the shades of blue and blue play.
- Patara Beach is a cult place, which was awarded in the nomination "Best Beach of the World". In ancient times, here was located a large and important port and the temple of Apollo, which attracted pilgrims from all over Asia.
Excursions from Oludeniz
Certainly, no matter what the wonderful beaches, spend on them completely your vacation, at least, irrationally. A great way to diversify pastime is to make excursions to the sights in the vicinity of Oludeniz.
These events can be ordered and paid for at the time of travel planning at the tour operator, and you can orient yourself and on the spot. Here is what is usually offered to guests:
- a sea excursion along the islands of the bay Oludeniz on a small ship gulet. In fact, we are talking about one island in the coves where stops are made in order to give tourists an opportunity to swim in the clearest water;
- paragliding in company with a professional instructor from Babadag mountain 2000 m high;
- a jeep trip to the ancient city of Tlos;
- a sea excursion by boat to the Valley of the Butterflies;
- excursions one and two days in Pamukkale and Ephesus.
How to get to Oludeniz?
In Dalaman is the nearest airport, from which you can get to Oludeniz by bus or taxi in just an hour and a half. From Fethiye, local minibuses constantly go here - dolmushi, which ply every 15 minutes during the high season and once in half an hour - in the winter. For a modest cost of 2 euros, they will take everyone to the place in 25 minutes.
Tourists are ready to host about 30 hotels - from the most expensive luxury, having 5 stars, to quite budgetary, but quite decent 3-star.
