Pecilia

Pecilia is one of the few species of live-bearing fish that do not eat their offspring. These fish are unpretentious. Are bypassed with a small amount of oxygen. It is quite enough to periodically make partial substitution of water in the aquarium. Completely to change water it is necessary only in emergency cases: infectious diseases or mass destruction of fishes.

Types of pecilia

There are several species of these fish:

  1. Pecilia spotted. Small fish. Female rarely grows more than 6 cm, and males - 4 cm. Body slightly elongate, wide enough caudal fin. The color of the fish can be different: gray-blue, red, olive, blue. To date, breeders have been able to breed several dozen color varieties of this type of fish. The fish is very unpretentious, even a three-liter bottle is suitable for its maintenance.
  2. Pecilia neon. Very peaceful and colorful fish. Perfectly suitable for a beginner aquarist, since they are completely unpretentious. For a small aquarium it is better to buy several individuals at once, at least 7 pieces. Fish swim flocks, with their scales poured blue-blue color.
  3. Pecilia black. The fish has a black color, shimmering with a greenish or bluish tint. Fins of fish are colorless, even transparent. Fry get black color at the age of about two months. To date, to bring matte even color and failed.

Breeding of pecils

Breeding pelicies greatly simplifies the work due to the fact that the offspring are not threatened. This species of fish does not proliferate. For one breeding period, you can get up to five litters with 50 fry each. If the female is small, her litter will be even smaller. Pregnant pecilia nurses offspring for about a month. As soon as the spot near the anal fin darkens, and the abdomen noticeably swells, it's time to transplant the female to spawn. The label lasts for several days. The female sweeps one mullet one after another with interruptions. After giving birth, the female is again planted in a common aquarium.

The fries of the pecilia have a wide body, which differs in shape from other viviparous fish species. To feed the fry of the fry is better than live food by placing it in a large enough and spacious aquarium twice a day. In such conditions, the fish grow quickly and after 4 months you get a new generation of producers.

If there are only pelicans in the aquarium, the fry does not threaten anything, they peacefully live with adults. To improve the breed, select the best representatives of the species. Next, they separately apply the education of males and females for 8 months. To determine the sex, consider the anal fin of the male.

Diseases of pecilia

Pelicia can carry infectious or non-contagious diseases. Infectious infectious diseases appear in the presence of pathogens of plant origin: viruses, fungi or bacteria. Parasites of animal origin are the cause of the appearance of an infectious nature.

Pelicia can get sick if there is a violation of the rules for keeping, cold or infection, which came with food. Outwardly, the disease can be determined by such signs:

Often, this fish species has melanosis, which is most often found in black and speckled species. In case of a disease, you will find excessive pigmentation, over time it grows into tumors.

For prevention, strictly observe all the rules of keeping fish, carefully monitor the temperature in the aquarium, carefully select food and diet, do not forget about breeding.
