Fish and plants living in a home aquarium are adapted to bright light and high temperatures. Ordinary street lighting is not enough for them, since we have a short autumn day (especially in winter), and the rooms where aquariums are installed are not always well lit. In order for plants to pass the processes of photosynthesis and the fish themselves feel comfortable, you need lighting for an aquarium that is easy to make by yourself. Budget lamp will not be inferior to shop lamp.
Lamp for the aquarium with their own hands
To make a lamp for an aquarium with their own hands will require the following devices:
- plastic panel;
- a simple pencil;
- knife;
- ruler;
- mirror / black self-adhesive tape;
- heat shrink;
- cartridge with cable;
- the tin strip.
It is required to make a box for the lamp in which the lamp will be placed. The luminaire will be manufactured in several stages:
- Measure out, cut 4 pieces of plastic (then they will become the walls of the lamp box) and process the edges so that they are even.
- Cut and remove the top layer of plastic (about 1 cm).
- Cut off each side of the plastic partitions.
- Connect the panels in such a way that the box turns out. This can be done using plastic glue.
- Inside, wrap the box with a mirror tape. It will reflect the light from the bulb and scatter it over the aquarium.
- Attach the cartridge with a tin strip, circling it over the cartridge with the help of small screws.
- Top with a black tape and twist the bulb. Attach the luminaire to the back wall.
Such a lamp will satisfy the need of fish and plants in lighting.
LED aquarium illumination with own hands
This backlight is made with a tape consisting of many bright bulbs. To work you will need a power supply unit with a capacity of 12 volts and the tape itself is white with a power of 9.6 watts per meter and protection class IP65. Such illumination can be placed directly under the water, but this should not be experimented, since the top light is more useful to aquarium tenants.
Connect the tape and the power supply cable to the silicone sealant . The dried tape can be fastened to the lid and turned on.
