September 30 (Faith, Hope, Love) - signs

From history we know that at the time when Vera, Hope and Love lived, ancient Emperor Emperor Hadrian reigned in ancient Rome. Everywhere people worshiped pagan gods. Rumors that on the outskirts of the empire the widow Sophia lives with her daughters, believing in the Orthodox Church, reached Adrian quickly. He sent troops behind them to bring them to the palace. There the emperor persuaded them to renounce the Christian faith and accept the pagan gods. Young daughters and their mother refused him. For this Faith, Hope and Love experienced terrible torments. Long mocked them in the palace, after which they perished. Their bodies were given to Sophia, who was forced to watch all the tortures carried out on her daughters. Three days later, unable to withstand the spiritual suffering, her mother died.
