Churches and temples of Chelyabinsk

The main, cathedral, cathedral city of Chelyabinsk is the St. Simeon's Temple . Originally it was built as a cemetery church, but at the end of the last century it was reconstructed. Simeonovsky Cathedral is very beautiful, its decor with tiled friezes and mosaic icons makes the temple a real landmark of the city. Here are stored valuable icons of the XVII and XIX centuries.

The Church of the Holy Trinity is the largest in Chelyabinsk since the destruction of the Nativity Cathedral. It was built on the site of the first church in 1768 in Zarechye, and then re-consecrated as early as 1990. In the Holy Trinity Church there are such holy things as the particles of the relics of the healer Panteleimon, the Monk Seraphim of Sarov and even the Apostle Andrew the First-Called.

And in 1907 in the place of an old chapel in Chelyabinsk was laid the Temple of Alexander Nevsky . Its beautiful one-story building was executed in the Neo-Russian style and richly decorated with red brick decor. The church itself was the 13th chapter. But in the years of Soviet power the temple stopped working. Here were located various institutions, while in the 80s the building was not transferred to the Chelyabinsk Philharmonic. In the building of the former Temple of Alexander Nevsky, the organ was installed and the Chamber and Organ Music Hall was opened.

On the bulk hill in Traktorozavodsky district of Chelyabinsk stands another church of red brick - the Temple of Basil the Great . Here you can see the chapel-chapel of St. Nicholas and the monument to the dead Russian soldiers. In the very Cathedral of St. Basil the Great it is interesting to look at the icons of Healer Panteleimon and "Our Lady of the Three Hands", which were written at the beginning of the XX century.

The temple of Sergius of Radonezh, which is also in Chelyabinsk, has not yet been fully completed, but it already receives its parishioners. The building of the Sergievsky church after the completion of the construction works will be a single-headed massive church with a bell tower.
