Temples of Krasnodar

Being a transit in Krasnodar, the guests of the city are always looking for where it would be interesting to spend time. But few of them are interested in Orthodox churches and churches in Krasnodar, but in vain. After all, it is now the revival of spirituality as nothing else is necessary for people. Among a considerable number of temples and monasteries are the most interesting of them.

Holy Protection Church (Krasnodar)

Perhaps, the youngest of the temples of Krasnodar is Piously-Pokrovsky, the construction of which was started with the allocation of land for it in 1992. At that time, the rector was Tikhon Nechaev, with the blessing of the archbishop of Kuban and Krasnodar. Then the parish was officially registered.

Today, finishing work is being done here, and at the same time, hundreds of parishioners visit the temple daily. Each year, spiritual seminars are held in the church.

Catherine's Church in Krasnodar

The history of this temple is interesting, because it was built as a token of gratitude to the higher forces for saving the royal family. In 1889, the train crashed, in which members of the august family miraculously survived. And in 1900 a temple with seven thrones was laid here, the main one was the Great Martyrs of Catherine , others - in honor of the patrons of the royal family - Olga, Xenia, Maria, Michael, Nicholas and George.

The construction was headed by the architect Ivan Malherb, and it lasted until 1914. For 15 years, the temple was repeatedly looted, once it even wanted to explode.

To celebrate the millennium of the baptism of Rus, the temple was restored, and as long as there is always a bell ringing. The main dome in 2012 was covered with gold leaf.

Temple of Alexander Nevsky (Krasnodar)

In 1853, on the central square in Yekaterinodar (the old name of Krasnodar) was laid the army cathedral, the construction of which ended only 19 years later, after which it was consecrated.

The interior of the temple is made in the Russian-Byzantine style, including the Florentine windows. In the cathedral a museum of the Cossacks was created, in which relics of the Kuban Cossacks were kept. Immediately at the temple was created the Kuban Cossack Choir, which exists to this day.

In 32 year of the last century the temple was blown up, and its restoration began only in 2003, thanks to the initiative of the local governor. In 2006, the church was rebuilt and consecrated by Patriarch Alexy II.

St. George's Church in Krasnodar

Perhaps, this is the most interesting temple in Krasnodar. After all, for its more than a thousand-year history, it has undergone various changes, but there have never been interrupted services, the flow of parishioners has always been inexhaustible. Even in the times of the USSR, when all religious was persecuted, the church stood its ground and conducted its activities. After modern reconstruction, it shone with fresh colors, attracting the attention of tourists.
