It is believed that in the duty free only expensive alcoholic beverages are sold. In fact, the price range presented in duty-free brands is quite wide. Is it possible to buy a fake in duty free?
Of course, in some particularly corrupt countries, the ratio of duty free is not unambiguous. For example, travelers advise very careful about buying alcohol in duty free in Egypt. But this is a rarity. For manufacturers of alcoholic beverages, duty free is a unique opportunity. Only here is an exclusively solvent audience that has both the means and the time, so a rare producer misses the opportunity to open his store in duty free. For duty-free shops, consultants who speak several languages are selected, it is there that manufacturers prefer to present their novelties.
Moreover, some companies even prefer to produce exclusive drinks collections for duty free meals. For example, Diageo initially planned to sell bottles of the famous Rare Malts Selection series only in the duty free of the largest airports. The company reasonably believed that this method of sale is exceptional, but when the taste of the new collection fell to consumers, it was decided to interrupt the "conclusion" of the Rare Malts Selection series in duty free.
Why in duty free fries low prices for alcohol?
Since the company does not pay duties, the cost of alcohol in duty free is lower than in the store. It is believed that the most significant difference in value is reached by the most elite, premium alcohol. Perhaps, therefore, the share of its sales here is so great.
In duty free, low prices for all products?
What is really worth buying in duty free, is elite alcohol, perfumes, expensive clothes and jewelry. But for souvenirs and "trifle" in stores, prices are usually unreasonably inflated.
However, do not forget that in each country there are restrictions on the amount of alcohol, chocolate and jewelry that can be exported abroad. You should not buy 10 bottles of premium whiskey in duty free, tempted at the price, if you know that you can only export 8. You will not be able to take out the extra two bottles.
