As an alternative to metal-plastic glazing, there are aluminum loggias - the so-called "cold" glazing. This option, although less energy-efficient, is still effective.
Advantages of loggias from aluminum profile
The name "cold" glazing is completely justified, because on such a loggia the temperature will not be high enough. However, in the modern construction market, "warm" aluminum has appeared recently, equipped with heat-insulating inserts. Of course, the installation of such a profile will cost more, but for the sake of warmth, such a loggia will not be much inferior to that which is glazed with metal plastic.
And yet, let's talk about the advantages of aluminum glazing:
- With this type of glazing, you have the option of selecting a sliding form of the structure when the opening doors of the windows move along the guides along the frame. This sliding aluminum loggia significantly saves already limited space.
- Aluminum loggias by weight are much easier. So you can glaze almost any loggia without the need to additionally strengthen the concrete base.
- You can choose a color glazing, that is, use a colored aluminum profile. It can be painted in any color with a powder color, so that you can easily enter a loggia into the design of the house.
And a little about the shortcomings.
Along with the positive qualities, there are aluminum glazing and disadvantages:
- low heat savings leads to the fact that in the winter on such a loggia it will be cold, unless you choose "warm" aluminum;
- during severe frosts and snowfall, icing of the metal parts of the frames is possible, because of which you can not open the window without first removing the ice;
- Aluminum loggias and balconies are not tight enough, which affects the noise insulation .
