Bed of particleboard by one's own hands

Folding furniture is a good solution for saving space in small rooms. A sofa bed such as a transformer for these purposes is best for you, as you immediately get a full sleeper and a cozy sofa for a rest during the day. In this article, we will look at how to make a bed of chipboard of this type.

Bed from the EAF itself: a master class

1. The first stage of making a bed from the chipboard will be a sleeper. Drawings of such beds from the DSP are four rectangles: one is slightly larger than the size of the mattress, the other three are sidewalls.
2. We fix the sidewalls to the base. To do this, enough self-tapping screws or other fasteners for furniture.
3. For the skeleton of a bed made of particle board, we will use such wheels for furniture. We do not need wheels ourselves, therefore we dismantle them.
4. Cut off the unnecessary part of the metal braces and straighten them.
5. This way we will fix the iron frame on a wooden frame.
6. Next, you need to fix the mechanism for unfolding the bed from the chipboard.
7. We fix the clamp for the structure.
8. The back is decorated with fabric, in our case old jeans were used. In the upper part we mount a small lamp for convenience.
9. With the first part figured out. Now let's take the second part of our sofa bed - a place to relax. Drawings of beds of sofa type from chipboard also represent rectangles: a skeleton, side walls and two parts for armrests. Plates 12 mm thick were used.
10. We fix all the details of the frame together. As the legs we take the details from the old table. The legs are also fixed with screws from those sides for more reliability.
11. Sew up the armrests and try on the sleeping part.
12. Now we will work on the springs for the sofa part. For them, you will need an additional wooden bar to install the clamps.
13. Fix couch springs along the entire length.
14. Everything is sewn with felt.
15. Further we put a special dense foam for furniture. Thinner arm rims.
16. The final stage is the decoration of the finished structure. A mattress made of foam rubber and sidewall with armrests is sewn with a denim fabric.
17. It remains only to lay cushions and bed made of particleboard, made by own hands, acquires a complete look. At night we recline the bed and get a full bed, and in the afternoon you have a small cozy sofa.
