Boeing 737 500 - interior layout

The Boeing 737-500, the youngest in the classic series of this series, is an aircraft for medium and short-haul airlines. This model was serially produced from 1990 to 1999, and the specialists of the company worked on the development since 1983. In general, the Boeing 737-500 is a shorter version of the 737-300, but its range is increased.

History of creation

At the time of the appearance of this model for her main competitor was the Fokker-100 aircraft, in which there were 115 seats. Some American companies preferred the offspring of Fokker, so the management of Boing decided to implement the project to create the model 737-500, which would have 132 passenger seats, that is, 15% more than the previously proposed models. Subsequently, the number of seats was changed, and today ranges from 107 to 117.

In May 1987, the company received 73 orders. The improved cabin of the Boeing 737-500 was more comfortable, and the engines of the CFM56 series provided a low noise level.

At present, the technical characteristics of the Boeing 737-500 make this aircraft the most optimal solution for airlines with a low but regular passenger traffic. Digital complexes of avionics EFIS, produced by the American company Honeywell, are used here. The carrier can also install a GPS satellite navigation system.

Currently, about four hundred Boeing models of this model, which can fly at speeds up to 910 kilometers per hour for distances up to 5,550 kilometers, are in operation of the world park.

Cabin

The layout of the layout of the Boeing 737-500 cabin, the capacity and location of seats in it depends on the wishes of the air carrier companies. So, if the entire salon belongs to the class category "economy", then the number of seats in the Boeing 737-500 is 119, including two seats for the crew. The smallest number of passenger seats in the layout of the salon, where 50 seats are assigned to the business class and 57 are to the economy class (107 seats in total). With regard to the best seats in the Boeing 737-500, it all depends on the wishes and preferences of the passenger. Of course, business-class seats are beyond competition, although those who bought tickets for seats A, C, D and F during the flight should look at the wall. But the reclining backrest and the ability to stretch your legs, stretching them forward, are compensated with interest. By the way, this disadvantage is also present in the 5th row of the economy class. If the flight is long, then the opportunity to stretch your legs forward and throw back the back is a huge "plus". There are two places in the 114-seat saloon - 14th row, seats F, A. Those who fly together, it is better to purchase tickets for seats 12 rows. The fact is that here in the Boeing 737-500 there are emergency exits, so a couple of extreme seats are missing. But remember, backs here, unfortunately, do not recline. Similar drawbacks exist in the seats in the 11th row.

There are no doubts about the most unfortunate places in the Boeing 737-500 cabin. These include the extreme seats of the penultimate, 22 rows, as well as the entire 23 series. The fact is that there are toilets behind them. Not only that during the entire flight you will be forced to watch the passengers scurrying endlessly back and forth, so also you will have to listen to the sounds of slamming doors and descending tanks.

To your journey passed without any unpleasant surprises. Take care of booking flights in advance. In addition, do not be lazy to get acquainted with the scheme of seats in the cabin of a particular aircraft, which you are going to use.
