Ceramic braces

What is most important when meeting new people? That's right, in the modern world it's a smile! she is both a visiting card, and the main disposing factor in acquaintance. Accordingly, the teeth should be beautiful! And what if there is nothing to boast and vice versa? Fortunately, dentistry is now available and developed in step with the times. And the ceramic braces of the system are one of the rods.

What do ceramic braces look like?

As early as the 19th century of the last millennium, the American dentist Engle was searching for ways to correct dental disorders. After a chain of metamorphosis, his apparatus became a modern bracket system, used for many years throughout the world. The first of the modern braces did not look very aesthetically pleasing, the metal locks connected by a fixing arc. These are widely used now, because they are reliable and in any case guarantee the result.

But science does not stand still, and in our time the demand for improved aesthetics is added to the method of treatment. Neither children nor adults want to look worse with metal arches on their teeth, even if this is a temporary measure. That's why dentists invented ceramic braces.

They are made of polycrystalline aluminum oxide and are practically not visible when attaching to teeth due to white color. They can be seen on the teeth only looking, or at the expense of a metal arc. But even here dentists have something to offer - the arc can be used with a white coating. Such braces are very difficult to notice on the teeth, which causes their popularity.

Types of ceramic braces

Depending on the way the braces are connected to the arc, they distinguish:

Ligature ceramic braces are more standard, when they are installed, the arc is fixed around each brace with the help of a special rubber - ligature. They require periodic rearrangement, because of which the patient has to come to the orthodontist about once a month for the whole bite correction .

Non-ligature braces are more modern. They have a special clamp, which does not cause such a strong friction of the arc inside the bracket. It is more physiological and natural, teeth are easier to move. Such braces are also more aesthetic, they are smaller in size, besides easier to care for and more comfortable.

Self-ligating braces do not require a monthly visit to the orthodontist, just 2-3 months will have to visit the doctor to monitor the situation. And the main advantage is that with ligature braces, the process of bite correction is reduced by a significant period of time (up to 25%, depending on the situation). Although in any case the question how much to wear ceramic braces can only answer the orthodontist. Most often this process takes at least 12-18 months.

How is the braces installed?

The installation of braces is absolutely painless and consists of several stages:

  1. Ultrasonic cleaning of teeth .
  2. Fastening of brackets one for each tooth with the help of special glue.
  3. Fixing the arc.
  4. Training features of hygiene in braces (with the help of special brushes, brushes, dental floss and therapeutic and preventive toothpastes).

The first few days are unavoidable discomfort, and even painful sensations. This is normal and speaks about a successful period of adaptation. Teeth actively begin to shift in the right direction. Over time, these feelings will disappear and can appear only for a short time after another correction of arcs and ligatures.
