For all the time the video equipment has been replaced, it has not been replaced by more than one generation of televisions . However, most of the major malfunctions that may occur in the operation of TVs of different generations have remained unchanged. The cause of the breakdown of the TV can be either factory marriage, or mechanical damage or unskilled repairs.

Typical malfunctions of TVs and possible causes

1. The TV does not turn on or turns on with a delay, the operation indicator does not light up or blinks. One of the most important causes of these faults is the failure of the power supply, for example, due to a sudden voltage drop in the network or because of a significant excess of its permissible value. In rare cases, the cause of these failures may be a malfunction in the motherboard or a problem in the radio channel.
2. The TV turns off spontaneously. It is possible that the protection against voltage drops is triggered, if there is one, otherwise - it is worth checking the power supply unit and the motherboard for the presence of microcracks.
3. The TV does not respond to the remote control. Most often, the reason lies in the console itself: either a battery, or a microcircuit. However, the breakdown can also be on the TV: a malfunction in the remote control receiver or in the processor.
4. The buttons on the TV panel do not work. Typically, this malfunction may result from damage or breakage of the electrical circuit from the button to the microcontroller, but the problem can also be found in the controller CPU.
5. Channel settings are not fixed. Most likely, there was a malfunction of the storage device.
6. Problems with sound on the TV. First of all, it's worth checking the operation of the speakers - they may just be turned off. If the dynamics are all right, then most likely the cause of this fault lies either in the sound processor, or in low-frequency amplifiers, less often in the radio channel.
7. Problems with the image on the TV:

• a complete absence of an image during normal operation of the sound may indicate a problem with the video amplifier or with the matrix itself of the panel;
• No image at which the sound either does not exist, or it works with interruptions, indicates a problem in the horizontal scan;
• the sound is there, no picture, but the TV screen is lit - this is a typical malfunction for TVs with a broken video processor or with interference in a radio channel or tuner;
• image on the screen floor horizontally - this means that one of the modules (Z and Y) of the frame scan of the matrix went out of operation, which can be caused by poor operation of the power supply unit or unstable voltage;
• A narrow vertical bar on the TV screen indicates a malfunction of the horizontal line transformer;
• the image is broadcast in one color or in the absence of one of the colors - the reason for this may be a video amplifier or video processor failure;
• iridescent stains on the TV screen - as a rule, the wine volume is broken by a resistor on the board, which is responsible for displaying the color image on the screen;
• the screen of the TV "snow" - in the first place, it is worth checking the antenna , if everything is in order, then, most likely, the reason lies in the failure of the radio channel or tuner.

Remember that any malfunction of the TV is not an unresolved problem if it is handled by a qualified technician. Therefore, what kind of trouble would not happen with your video equipment, never try to repair it yourself.
