Previously, the construction of premises with unusual geometries (roundness, bends of walls, bay windows ) provided many questions in the field of decoration, since it was problematic to process similar walls with a plinth. Now in the market there are flexible floor plinths made of PVC, which solve this problem.

Such skirting boards are gaining popularity now because of the convenience and simplicity of working with them, as well as the wide possibilities for installation. In general, the floor skirting is the final touch in the finish of the floor, which closes all the seams between the floor and the wall, and also numerous wires are hidden in it. Flexible plinth, thanks to the features of the material from which it is made, it is possible to trim such complex elements in the constructive plan, like columns, radius bay windows or sections of the floor with different heights.

Types of flexible plinth

There are two main types of flexible floor skirting:

1. The first is a flexible flat self-adhesive roll-on skirting board, which is a sticky tape with a bend in the middle: one half is fixed to the wall, the other half is fixed to the floor. The installation of skirting boards of this kind is carried out with the help of an adhesive layer on the bottom of the tape. You can make a room like a plinth in a matter of hours, it looks neat and beautiful. But there are significant drawbacks to such coverage. This limited number of designs, as well as the fact that this skirting board is snug against the wall and does not have a channel for placing wiring. In addition, the purchase of a roll skirting board is still quite problematic.
2. The second type of flexible skirting has a design consisting of two slats: the bottom, which is directly glued to the wall, it leaves a groove for placing the wires, and the upper one, which closes this same groove and creates a decorative effect. Such skirting boards are glued in the same way as standard non-concave variants, that is, using any PVC glue. Designs of this type of skirting are very diverse, so it can be used to finish any of the intended purpose of the premises.
