As you know, after installing the entrance door, the opening does not look very attractive. To ennoble this part of the interior, many resort to the services of a specialist. However, often this is not necessary, and you can finish the entrance doorway yourself, thus saving money and acquiring new skills of the builder.
As the main material for finishing doorways, you can use MDF, chipboard, PVC panels, wood, decorative brick, tile, plasterboard, molding, stucco or mosaic . The choice depends on the financial possibilities and style of the interior.
In our master class, we will show you how to trim the door entrance door with your own hands with the help of chipboard. For this we need:
- 12x120 mm chipboard slats;
- telescopic casing (with groove);
- hand milling machine for wood;
- electric saw;
- mounting foam;
- glue "liquid nails";
- wooden wedges;
- alcohol.
Finishing the doorway with your own hands
- We measure according to the dimensions of the door 2 vertical (axial) bars 2 cm less than the height of the opening and 1 horizontal bar equal to the width of the opening. To check the accuracy, we apply the panels to the attachment points.
- Using a milling hand-held machine, we drill a notch 4 mm deep and 6 mm wide at the ends of the slats.
- We check the immersion of the clypeus into the groove of the butt.
- With the help of liquid nails fasten the chisel laths of the chipboard, directly, to the iron frame of the doorway. First, degrease the metal surface with alcohol. Then, we press the pasted bar and give it a foothold.
- In the same way, we fasten the second hock and vertical panel. In this case, above the top panel we place wooden wedges in two points. We wait until the glue is completely frozen.
- Further, the gaps between the wall and the panel in several places are faded and left to dry.
- We apply foam along the entire contour of our doorway, with the entrance into the interior of 2 cm.
- Now the most important moment of our finishing the doorway with our own hands - installation of platbands. To do this, measure the height and cut the edges of the slats at an angle of 45 °.
- Apply the trim to the frame to make sure that the corners are cut evenly.
- At the inner corner of the casing we apply foam, insert it into the groove of our door frame and press it tightly. In the same way we fasten the remaining 2 clypeus.
- That's what we got.
As you can see, it's very quick and economical to trim the doorway of the entrance door with your own hands.
