This talented person laid the foundations of the French sign language, and his methodology has become the world's most widely used. Celebrating his birthday very quickly became a tradition of grateful deaf-mute residents of France, and then of the rest of the world. Annual international meetings were not in vain and led to the creation of a full-fledged organization capable of solving the most important problems at the highest level.

The World Federation of the Deaf, born in 1951, is one of the oldest organizations that set the goal of uniting people with disabilities. Traditionally on such days, one should make maximum efforts to destroy that unpleasant isolation, in which sometimes people with limited hearing appear. In developed countries, this problem is not so threatening, therefore, at solemn meetings it is worthwhile to give positive examples of how many outstanding personalities, despite the diseases, have achieved tremendous successes in very different fields.

It is possible to remember on the International Day of the Deaf genius Tsiolkovsky, who managed to make a revolution in science, despite the partial loss of hearing, which struck him after a childhood scarlet fever. Fantastic Karel Capek, world-famous writer Jean Jacques Rousseau and composer Beethoven, Hugo, poet and amazing swordsman Pierre de Ronsard, President Bill Clinton - this list of the most talented people of the past and the present can be continued on many pages. Deafness could not break those who are strong in spirit and have great and real goals ahead of them. Such examples should be given at meetings of school leavers for the deaf, at large events involving children and the public.

An important role in the celebration of the International Day of the Deaf is the organization of sports competitions of any level, because hearing impairments do not prevent adolescents and adults from becoming good athletes, swimmers, chess players or volleyball players. Heads of oblasts and districts should be encouraged to actively engage with people with hearing disabilities, who live in their region. If a person is healthy, but he understands the problems of people with hearing impairment and tries to promote their integration into society, such actions require immediate support. Activities for the Day of the Deaf are an excellent occasion to commemorate such enthusiasts from the high tribunes and please them with gifts.
