Island of Plasa Sur


The island of Plasa-Sur is one of two twin islands in the Galapagos . Natural features

The stony beaches are home to the world's largest colonies of sea lions. Some of them number thousands of individuals. Approaching such a cluster of wild animals is very dangerous. In such colonies there are leaders - the strongest and smartest leaders. They are the greatest danger for any two-legged stranger.

In addition, one of the largest populations of land iguanas, which feed on fruit and fruits of the prickly pear, lives on the island of Plasa Sur. Due to the crossing of the sea and land iguana, a hybrid was obtained. They are very easy to distinguish by external signs - the yellow-brown coloration was transmitted from the land ancestors, and the head shape and tail are inherited from the marine iguana.
