Who invented the little black dress?
With the appearance of a little black dress, the sad history of Coco Chanel is linked: when her beloved man died in an automobile accident, she could not openly mourn while not married to him, but she created for herself a simple black dress, photographs, or sketches of which appeared in 1926 in the journal Vogue. In the editorial board, this model was dubbed "Ford", having made an analogy with the popular car then, also available only in black. And then he was noticed and appreciated by almost all women, and it very quickly became fashionable. The main advantage of this dress is that it suited the ladies with any figure and different prosperity. It was distinguished by:
- low waist (the dress was slightly taken over the thighs);
- length slightly below the knees;
- neck - a shallow "boat";
- long narrow straight sleeves;
- decoration in the form of two triangles in the upper and lower part of the dress with the tops directed to the center.
Since that time, the little black dress has changed many times, all the famous couturiers have created their own styles of this universal outfit, and most women gladly supplement their dresses with such dresses.

The evolution of Ford
- In the 1920s, these dresses, as in the original, had a straight silhouette, but were complemented by a multilayered skirt, lace and embroidery;
- in the 30's appeared models with an open back, as well as elegant dresses in the figure;
- during the Second World War dresses were simple, close to the original version, but slightly more stressed shoulders;
- in the second half of the 1940s they began to emphasize the waist, had a rather deep neckline and a magnificent skirt;
- in the 50s and early 60s the fashion set course for elegance, and the MChP were mostly tight-fitting or with a voluminous but not magnificent skirt;
- after 1965, mini became popular, and a small black dress followed this trend;
- in the 70 years, various styles were welcomed, and in the next decade the classic again won. True, the length "grew" to the size of the floor.
Modern models of dresses are mostly not as versatile as the creation of Chanel, but today they are so diverse that you can choose for any occasion: strict and everyday, cocktail and evening, different lengths and all kinds of fabrics. Together with her friend Elizabeth Starbucks, she designed a short dress with buttons, which can be worn by either side, and wore it for a whole year, combining it with other clothes and accessories.
