Silk carpets

European countries are moving farther away from tradition to cover the floors and decorate the walls in the dwelling with carpets. But the Muslim states piously honor traditions. The most expensive and the most durable in the world for a long time recognized as floor and wall silk carpets. Thanks to natural materials (linen, silk), and special weaving techniques, these products are able to preserve their paints, fortress and pristine appearance for centuries.

A bit of history

The Turks believe that they became the ancestors of carpet weaving, although they are a little cunning, but still not far from the truth. The first silk carpet was woven in the town of Hehere, near Istanbul. It is distinguished by an unusual weaving with a so-called double Turkish knot on each thread, which gives it a special fortress, compared to the rest. The material was brought here from the village of Bursa.

Externally, carpets from Jereke differ softness and tenderness of shades and an unusual floral pattern, which is strikingly different from the geometric ones that are used in other regions. To date, carpets from this town have become a household name and now "carpet kereke", or rather with similar patterns, are produced in Iran, China and other countries of the Eastern World.

Manufacturers of carpets

Everyone knows a fairy tale about Gene and Aladdin, who flew on a Persian silk carpet. It is in ancient Persia that carpet weaving originated, which is popular to this day, but in modern Iran. As in ancient times we weave carpets by hand, on manual machines. Each master at an hour knotted more than three hundred knots, which makes the work very laborious.

Along with the Turkish, Iranian carpets are very popular among connoisseurs around the world and are sometimes worth a fortune. You can admire these masterpieces for free in mosques, where they are covered with floors and hung walls.

Slightly less popular were Chinese silk carpets, because they got their distribution later, and therefore can not boast a rich history, like Persian or Turkish. Earlier, Chinese palaces were decorated with palaces of emperors, and today they are an exclusive decoration of houses of wealthy and famous people.

In addition to these manufacturers, Pakistani, Indian and slightly less Turkmen silk carpets are valued all over the world. Like the rest, they are woven from silk and linen threads, stained with antimony, basma , turmeric, and other natural dyes. Differs their picture and quality of performance, according to which the price is assigned.
