Stitches from rags

There are many ways and techniques, how to tie hooks or sew from shreds with your own hands. In this master class for making potholes from patches (patchwork technique) we will use a pattern from the hexagons "Grandma's Garden" and do everything manually, without using a sewing machine.

Potholtage from shreds with your own hands: a master class

You will need:

"Flower" from the shreds:

  1. Draw and cut out of paper 19 hexagons with a side of 2.7 cm and one larger with a side of 4 cm.
  2. Using as a pattern a hexagon larger, we cut out 19 pieces from pieces of fabric.
  3. Pin a small paper template to the center from the underside of the fabric part.
  4. We wrap the edges of the fabric on a paper pattern and swipe it with large stitches so that the shape of the hexagon is kept. The same is done with the rest of the details.
  5. After removing the pins, the two blanks are folded with the faces and sewn on the one side with a hidden seam.
  6. Sequentially stitch the sides of the parts together to make a "flower".
  7. We iron the "flower" with an iron, pull out a note, take out all paper patterns.

Assembling the tack:

  1. Cut out three squares measuring 25x25 cm: one of the synthepone (batting) and two of the fabric for the front and back side of the tack.
  2. Consistently fold the layers: the back side fabric, sintepon, the fabric of the front side, the "flower". We break them with pins.
  3. Sew a "flower" in the center of the square, while laying a line through all layers of fabric. We do it manually, making small stitches with contrasting threads. You can lay a line just on the edge of the "flower", but it is better to flash each hexagon, emphasizing the pattern and volume.
  4. Cut out a long strip of fabric 5 cm wide and 15 cm longer than the perimeter of the product.
  5. We wrap both edges of a strip to the middle of the wrong side and iron.
  6. We make the bezel trim, sewing a strip of fabric with contrasting threads. We start work from the place where the loop will be.
  7. At the corners of the tack, carefully turn the strip and continue to plot the line.
  8. Having finished the fringing, continuing to make stitches, we form and fix the loop. Our product is ready!

Sew the multicolored hexagons in another picturesque order and get a hold on a pair to ours.

Such a tack from the shreds, made by themselves, will always be a good gift for any mistress.
