The artist that draws ... the shadow

During a walk around Redwood City, the county center of San Mateo County, California, USA, you may have a strange feeling in yourself ... Pay special attention to the shadows.

Notice something unusual? For example, that flowers grow from parking bike racks, mail boxes turn into monsters, and monkeys jump around the city's parking lots. What is happening there?

Do not panic! Do not worry, it's just the work of Damon Belanger, a graphic artist who lives and works in the San Francisco Bay area. Damon received an order for 20 fake shadows in the center of Redwood City, in order to bring a note of creativity to the upgrading of the city, which he, as you have already noticed, is doing very well. "The shadows are enlivened by ordinary, imperceptible objects at first glance, thereby causing passers-by to smile and distract from routine routine," says the artist. Here are some examples of his work.

1. Before giving a finished look to the work, Damon selects an object that will cast a "shadow".

Then he circles the contour - he prepares the sketch.

And only then it paints the figure in a dark gray color.

The result is a whimsical shade ...

... which please not only their creator, but also residents and tourists of the city.

2. Here is another work from the series "Funny robots".

3. The process of creating a masterpiece.

The guy definitely has a talent! Awesome fantasy!

4. Who would have thought that bicycle parking is not such a boring place.

5. And you did not notice a monkey ...

6. That's how unusual art looks during the day:

7. And this way - at night:

8. Looking at this cat, you ask yourself the question: "And if you look wider: what" shadows "will be casting whole buildings ?!"

9. Just do not say that you are not trying to present this unusual snake instead of this ordinary pipe!

10. Modest, but with taste.
