How to make wall shelves of wood with their own hands?

We begin work with the correct selection of boards - they should be smooth, dry, without voids and cracks. Only in this case can guarantee the long service of the product.

For work we will need such tools and materials:

For example, consider the manufacture of a simple rectangular shelf with dimensions of 250 mm in width, 300 mm in height and 1000 mm in length.

Lay the boards and mark them, transferring the dimensions from the drawing. And when the markup is completed, go to the next stage - cutting the boards. For this, it is better to use a jigsaw. You should get 2 short and 2 long billets.

The blanks must be processed with a grinding machine, then covered with stain and varnish. If you plan to paint a shelf, treat the boards with an antiseptic primer.

Let's start assembling the product. We put the bottom board on a flat surface flat, retreat to the edges of 8 mm and draw two lines parallel to the cut, mark on these lines 2 points at a distance of 50 mm from the edge and drill holes for the screws. The same is done with the second long billet. When all the holes are ready, apply the side walls and twist the shelf with the screws.

At the ends of the side walls we fix the brackets, and in the wall we fix the dowels and screw the screws to which we will hang the shelf.
