Hollywood is shaken by a series of sexual scandals. The harassment was accused by producer Harvey Weinstein, actors Kevin Spacey, Dustin Hoffman, director Brett Ratner and many others.
It turns out that for decades, some influential people, using their high position, allowed themselves blatant deeds ... And some it cost a career.
Harvey Weinstein
The scandal with producer Harvey Weinstein began Oct. 5, when the New York Times tabloid published an interview with actress Ashley Judd, in which she accused one of Hollywood's most influential people of sexual harassment. The publication produced the effect of an exploding bomb. Weinstein was accused of dozens of actresses; after years of silence, women finally revealed the shocking truth and told about the adventures of a powerful producer.
Among those whom Weinstein tried to force into sex, were Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kara Delevin. For a long time, the stars kept secret the facts about the obscene behavior of the producer, fearing to harm their career, but now they seemed to burst: every day there are more and more shocking revelations.
As a result of the scandal, Weinstein was fired from his own film company. Now the police are preparing to arrest him.
Kevin Spacey
Following Weinsten in sexual harassment, the star of "American Beauty" Kevin Spacey was accused. Actor Anthony Rapp said that when he was a 14-year-old teenager, a drunken Spacie tried to persuade his intimacy.
This is not the end: after the Rapp 8 members of the crew of the series "House of Cards" also accused Spacie of harassment. One of them said:
"He uneasily molested the young guys on the court and felt absolute impunity"
After all these scandalous statements, Spasey, 58, made a camping out, telling him that he was gay and said that he was leaving his career indefinitely. In addition, Netflix hurried to announce the end of the filming of the series "House of Cards", in which Spacey played the role of US President.
Bill Cosby
Bill Cosby was at the center of a sexual scandal at the age of 78 years. More than 50 women talked about the heinous crimes of the actor, who, among other things, is on the list of the 100 most outstanding African Americans.
It turned out that this "outstanding" African American mixed drugs at women's parties, and then raped them. Many of his victims, he paid for the silence. Now the matter is on further investigation, and Cosby is not being removed anywhere.
Roman Polanski
Back in 1977, the director was accused of raping 13-year-old Samantha Gamer. He invited her to a photo shoot in the house of Jack Nicholson, where, after watering champagne and treating him with drugs, he raped. To avoid arrest, the director fled to Europe, where he still lives. It is interesting that the victim of Polanski, who is 53 years old, forgave her rapist and now demands that the case be closed. She believes that he has already been punished enough that he is deprived of the opportunity to shoot in the US and is isolated from the world of the film industry.
Subsequently, several more women accused the director of harassment, which they were subjected to, not yet reached adulthood. And more recently, the artist Marianne Barnard said that in 1975, when she was only 10 years old, Polanski tried to seduce her. Marian's mother really wanted her daughter to act in films and took her to the famous director herself. Polanski decided to arrange tests for the girl and invited her to one of the beaches of Malibu for a photo shoot.
Remaining with Marian alone, he asked her to take off her swimsuit, and then began to molest the girl. After this episode, Marian developed claustrophobia and post-traumatic syndrome, but she decided about everything only now, 40 years later. Her determination was influenced by the scandal with Harvey Weinstein.
Roy Price
The head of the company Amazon Studios was dismissed on October 18, 2017, after producer Isa Hackett, daughter of science fiction writer Philip Dick, said that in 2015 Price solicited her. The scandal had a negative impact not only on Price's career, but also on his personal life. His fiancee Leela Feinberg left him and announced the engagement break. Curiously, the designer of her wedding dress was Georgina Chapman, the wife of Harvey Weinstein, who also left her husband after the scandal with harassment.
Julian Assange
In 2010, Julian Assange arrived in Sweden, where two women appealed to law enforcement agencies immediately, accusing him of sexual crimes. In both cases, the charges look strained, and most likely, women are simply jealous of each other. Nevertheless, the Stockholm court ruled to arrest Assange, and for 7 years the founder of WikiLeaks has been hiding from criminal prosecution in the embassy of Ecuador in London.
Terry Richardson
Fashion photographer Terry Richardson worked with many well-known fashion houses, but his career declined after it became known about the regular harassment that the models were subjected to while working with him. Girls say that filming with Richardson is more like an orgy and drinking than a normal work process.
