Bozkovsky dolomite caves are a large park located in Bohemia, not far from the village of Bozkov. It is remarkable for its beautiful nature , and also for its amazing caves , which are nowhere else to be found.
A bit of history
The first information about the network of underground caves appeared in 1944. Documentally, they were confirmed only in 1947, when workers who worked in a career, accidentally found a failure in the ground.
Extensive study of the caves began only after 10 years - in 1957. Even then, scientists drew attention to the unusual "interior" of caves, and therefore the idea was born to make them accessible to visitors. This was realized in 1969. The studied part of this underground network is a section in 1035 m long. The remaining 2/3 of the territory is closed for tourist visits because of the danger of landslides.
What is remarkable, the Bozkov caves have not been fully studied so far, so that everyone here can expect some new interesting discoveries.
Tourist route in the caves
The tour of the Bozkovsky caves covers two underground systems. They are called Old and New, relying on the order of discovery. Once they were isolated from each other by water, but the lake was drained at that place, and now the caves are a single complex.
The length of the route is 500 m. The trail is light, without sharp ups and downs, so it is suitable for people of any age and physical constitution. The passage time will take approximately 45 minutes.

How to get to Bozkovsky caves?
First you need to get to the village of Bozkov - the easiest way to do this is by bus from Liberec . From the Bozkov to the caves is still about 15 km. The area there is very interesting, so you can either walk this distance along the river, or use the tourist transport .
