Breeding ferrets at home requires them to provide a full and balanced diet, which must be provided fresh in 4 times a day. A mammal's diet should contain such products:
- animal food;
- porridge on broth;
- dairy;
- a fish;
- flour worms, dragonflies and crayfish.
A pregnant female should receive several more products containing calcium and vitamin complexes that will support her body during pregnancy.
The breeding of domestic ferrets is accompanied by a spring race that falls on March-April and lasts only a few days. Mating, which provokes ovulation, lasts from 10 minutes to several hours. During this period the male is able to fertilize two or three females. The next pairing is in June or July. This seasonality is due to the need for warm weather conditions for the brood.
It is necessary to equip the nest for the female, to monitor his hygiene. Control over delivery is required, since puppies are born prematurely. Feeding the cubs is already on the 20th day of their life and consists in putting them on the cheek of minced meat, diluted in milk.
