Dogs are similar in many respects to people. They, as well as we have puberty, have instincts and a desire to continue the genus. It should be noted that in dogs puberty is marked by the first heat ("human equivalent" - the beginning of menstruation), after which their body is already capable of bearing offspring.
A bit of theory
At each breed of dogs the time of onset of estrus is different. Large breeds develop longer, therefore the estrus begins approximately in 9-11 months. In small breeds, development is more rapid, and sexual maturation can occur at six months. But experts argue that even within one breed, the dates of the onset of the first heat may vary from 6 months to one year.
Signs of the first estrus in a dog
The main sign of rapid heat is the increased attention of familiar males to the bitch. They feel that your dog's body is ready to bear fruit, so they begin to show interest in it, but they do not produce a cage. The bitch at this time becomes very aggressive towards the males. In addition, the animal exhibits the following symptoms:
- the dog begins to urinate frequently (in her understanding, it is a scent "bait" for males);
- behavior becomes playful and active;
- The loop becomes swollen, pressing it produces a light pink color.
After 2-3 days, droplets of blood begin to be released from the loop. This is the beginning of estrus. Allocations last for 9-10 days. During this period, the bitch with anger drives away the males, growls at them. In some bitches, the first estrus has weak manifestations (there is little blood, so the attraction for the dog is small). This condition is called "hidden heat", but it is still a full-blooded estrus of the dog. Try not to miss the offensive of the first, in the sweat and the second heat.
What happens after estrus?
After the blood discharge stopped in the animal, sexual arousal begins. The dog begins to molest itself to dogs of the opposite sex, makes cages even on a branch. From the 9th to the 16th day of the pustule, she is ready for fertilization, so this period is called "sexual hunting". During the hunt, the dog takes a pose for mating, allows you to make a cage. After this comes a lull and the dog again ceases to let the males.
