Cat bed for yourselves

A bed for a cat with your own hands - it's easier than it seems at first glance. It can be done even without the help of a sewing machine, although, of course, this will make the process longer. With the help of a sewing machine, even if you are a novice needlewoman, with this simple work you can do it in a couple of hours, and the result will exceed all expectations, because everyone knows that a thing made by one's own hands can not compare with what you can buy on the counter.

To make a bed for a cat, we need a cloth, best of all, if it is soft, since cats are big sissies, cardboard for workpieces and foam rubber, of course, you still need auxiliaries - scissors, thread, needle. If you are ready, we can start working!

Master-class on sewing a bed for a cat

We will work in several stages:

1. The first thing we do is prepare. On a sheet of thick cardboard we draw the workpieces for two parts - the bottom, or the cushions, and the rim. Often in the house of cat lovers live a few fluffy friends, so the size of the couch will be chosen based on the fact that it will rest a few cats, or a cat with baby kittens. So, the size of the blank for the pillow is 45x60 centimeters, and the height of the border is 20 centimeters. The length of the edge is obtained by counting the perimeter of the pillow, we get 20 centimeters. Draw and cut out the blanks.

2. Then apply the workpiece to the sheet of foam rubber, cut out the foam rubber in size and get the basis for the cushion and the rim. Billet under the pillow is left as a bottom.

3. Now go to the base skin with a cloth. The choice of fabrics directly depends on your taste, you can choose a wonderful soft fabric in the handicraft store, you can make from improvised means, sew from scraps, from an old sweater, curtains, bed linen, it all depends on your desire.

4. Having defined with a tissue, we cut out the bottom of the couch, leaving allowances of 2-3 centimeters for the seams.

5. We cut out the fabric from the fabric by the shape of the rim and the cushion in two layers with allowances for the seams.

6. Cut out the fabric for the lining of the rim and the cushion.

7. Sew at the seams, leaving one side not sewn, then insert foam and sew up so that the foam is left inside.

8. Now we sew the sides with the bottom. We do it from the bottom, we work carefully, so that the seams are hidden as much as possible. Of course, the bottom will not be visible, but it is still better when the product is executed qualitatively from all sides.

9. We will not sew the cushion, we will leave it removable, this will enable us to wash it separately, since from the private washing of the entire couch the foam can quickly lose its shape.

10. Our soft and cozy stove for a cat with our own hands is ready. It is sure to please your favorite pet!
