Embroidery on plastic canvas

Working with a plastic canvas is good in that you can create not just beautiful bright canvases, but different three-dimensional products. These are either ethnic-style ornaments, and various vases or small houses. Embroidering on a plastic canvas is quite simple, since the principle of operation is no different from the technique with a conventional cloth.

Volumetric embroidery on a plastic canvas

We offer to consider a simple lesson, how to embroider on a plastic canvas, using the example of a house. It uses simple geometric shapes and very little work with threads.

  1. Any embroidery on the plastic canvas begins with the selection of the size of the cells. The larger they are, the more finished the finished product will be. It is best to start with an average size.
  2. Cut one piece for the base and two details - the front and back walls.
  3. Next, we need two parts for the roof and two sidewalls of the house itself.
  4. First take the front and back walls. We use only two colors: the main one for the wall and the contrast for the door. In the back wall leave an empty space, a little later there will be a glued part to create the volume.
  5. The next stage of work with a plastic canvas for embroidery will be the side. They are the same. In the center we also leave two empty places to paste separately embroidered parts there.
  6. Now we need to embroider these windows: this method makes it possible to make our house voluminous and more interesting. But no one forbids you to embroider these elements directly on the basis.
  7. This is how the details of the roof of our house from the plastic canvas look.
  8. Now it's time to put all these blanks together. We lay out on the table all the details in their order.
  9. Step by step we sew the details of the base. Try to adjust the thickness of the thread in such a way that the cells are completely blocked and there are no lumens left.
  10. So, the base and sides are connected. Next, we need to connect the walls together.
  11. We hide the end of the thread in the following way, then it will not start to blossom and the structure will be securely fixed.
  12. Separately, we collect the roof. To do this, we sew up its details and process the edge with a thread.
  13. We will fix the roof to the base with the help of glue. We smear the ends of the walls and cover them.
  14. The final stage is the embroidery decoration on the plastic canvas. To do this, a variety of materials are suitable: sequins, beads, pebbles or rhinestones. We will also fix them by glue.
  15. If you want to make a small loop, simply thread the needle and thread into the central cell on the roof. Then you can hang our house and use it as a Christmas tree or decor for a room.
