New Year's boot with your own hands: materials

You will need:

1. A cut of dense fabric for the outer part of the craft. The best option is sewing a New Year's boot made of felt - a material that gives an excellent shape. As an option, it is possible to make a New Year's boot from fleece. In extreme cases, use any fabric that you have available.
2. Cut fabric for lining.
3. A piece of bulk fabric for the cuff.
4. Batting (optional, but necessary for lining, when non-felt is used).
5. Lace.
6. The cardboard pattern of the boot (you can cut it by the pattern of the New Year's boot proposed below). The approximate size is 7-12 cm in the width of the shaft and 16-20 cm in height.
7. Threads.
8. Scissors, pins.

How to sew a New Year's boot: master class

1. Attach the cardboard pattern of the boot to the dense fabric. Cut two identical blanks, remembering to add to the edges 1.5-2 cm for the seam. In the same way, we cut out the blanks from the lining fabric, again without forgetting to add a few centimeters for the seam.
2. In the event that you could not find a piece of felt, we recommend that you cut out the workpiece from the batting in order to make a mold on the cardboard template. Add material for the seam is not necessary.
3. Now we put the workpiece from a dense fabric with a lining, adding between them, if necessary, batting, and fasten the edges with English pins. We connect them on a sewing machine, with each side of the boot separately.
4. Before connecting both sides of the boot, we prepare the elements for the decorative cord on the sides. Cut out of the fabric for the cuff strip of 4-5 cm wide. In it in the middle along the entire length we lay the cord, turn off the strip and tightly sew both sides of it on the machine: our cord appears to be in the body.
5. Carefully attach both sides of the boot with the wrong side, putting a cord between them, and connect them with a machine seam.
6. Now we'll take care of the cuffs. Its optimal height is 4-6 cm, so cut out a rectangle, the length of which will be equal to the double bootleg width, and the width - double width, which should be at the cuff. Fold the fabric in half and put a piece of batting in it to give a splendor. Fixing the edges of the pins, sew to the wrong side of the top of the boot cuff in a circle.
7. If desired, we can sew a hinge loop for hanging from a long strip of fabric, from which we sewed the outer part of the product. Felt does not fit here. Folding the strip in half, sew it on the wrong side, turn it out and attach it to the boot by hand or on the typewriter.
