Buffets - master class

The technique of buffers involves the execution of lines that fix the fabric in the form of volume assemblies. Lines are made according to special schemes. Used buffers often for decorating clothes, cushioning cushions, upholstered furniture. The technique of making buffs only at first glance seems complicated and tricky, in fact its simplest schemes are quite suitable for beginners. In the master class, we show how you can make a sofa cushion in the technique of buffs.

Pillows-buffets with their own hands

In order to make a cushion-buff from a fabric for beginners, we need this:

Now let's start making a cushion-bufa with our own hands.

Pillow with puffs - master class

  1. First of all, take our cuts of curtain fabric and overtake them on the sewing machine. Sew them together and iron it properly.
  2. Now, using a chalk and a ruler, we place the markings on the fabric. Of course, we are drawing from the reverse, the wrong side. Having picked up the scheme, we will outline our fabric on squares in the size 2,5 х 2,5 sm and we will put drawing precisely same, as on a picture.
  3. In the process of working, a drawing made with chalk can be erased, so we mark the main points with a ballpoint pen. However, if you have a high-quality chalk and a very textured fabric, you can not do this.
  4. Next, fold the fabric in half, mark the middle with a pin. Then, from one end, we count the even number of cells, as close as possible to the middle, we retreat from the last cell 1 cm as an allowance and cut off the fabric, overtake the cut.
  5. Now put the fabric in half, mark out, pin the middle and all the lines parallel to it, then staple and remove the pins.
  6. The most interesting moment of the master-class was the assembly of buffers. Let's show it on the example of a detailed scheme, figuring out which you can easily make buffers of fabric for the pillow.
  7. Begin work from point 1. Capture a few threads and pull the thread.
  8. Next, grab a few threads at point 2, pull the thread, connecting two points - 1 and 2.
  9. Now, pierce the resulting crease and double-do the loop, fixing the position.
  10. Move to point 3, grab the fabric and pull the thread, not pulling the fabric.
  11. Make the loop at point 3.
  12. Next, grab point 4.
  13. We pull the fabric and perform two loops, fixing the position.
  14. Continue work on the same scheme - in even points we make a crease, in odd ones we perform a simple hook.
  15. On the fabric, we have turned out such buffers. As you can see, the seam is visible only from the wrong side.
  16. Now let's start making cushions for pillows in the technique of buff. Here is our source code.
  17. To start assembling the folds, we mark with their pins their vertices (they should be located strictly along the lines of connecting the buffers), then we thread the fabric on the tops and tighten it.
  18. We connect the ends of the threads.
  19. We deduce the needle on the front side and collect the resulting folds, tighten, pull the thread to the wrong side and fix it.
  20. In the center of the pillow we sew a decorative button.
  21. Next, we tightly stuff a pillow in the technique of buffers with a sintepon. We arrange it evenly, leaving no empty spaces.
  22. After that, we again collect wrinkles in the same way as we did the first time.
  23. Now we sew in the middle exactly the same button and admire the product.
  24. For those who prefer to use schemes in sewing, we have transferred to paper a diagram of how to make pillows in the technique of buff from fabric.

That's all, we can rightfully be proud of the result of our hard work.

Decorative pillows can be made by different techniques and methods, choosing a different material, velvet, satin or, for example, denim fabric .
