Can Pastilla

Can Pastilla (Mallorca) is a small resort town very close to Palma de Mallorca, from which, it can be said, the tourist business of the island began around the beginning of the 60s of the 20th century. The resort is very popular among German tourists, so many bars and restaurants are focused on them.

By the way, the resort also owes its name to one of the once popular local bars.

"High season" here lasts from May to the end of September, but at another time in Can Pastilla you can have a good rest: the climate here is generally very mild, and many hotels have indoor pools.

The decoration of the center of the town is the church of St. Anthony, from which it is possible to descend to the long promenade that runs along the beaches and reaches the Arenal resort, through narrow streets, or even lanes - but if the latter is a resort for noisy youth recreation, then Kan- Pastilla - a more respectable resort, designed for family rest. There are many park areas where you can hide from the sun.

However, this does not mean that you can not go shopping, go to a disco or do anything interesting: there are also nightclubs, discos, and shops, and if you want more grandiose entertainment - you can always spend about 15 minutes and get to Palma de Mallorca by bus number 17 or 23.

In Arenal you can easily walk - or ... go by train. Tour 52 in Can Pastilla is another attraction. It runs along the promenade, which unites Kan-Pastil and Arenal almost into a single resort, and you can admire the coastal zone from the windows of the train.

The fare in route 52 CaƱ Pastile - 3,5 euros round-trip; the train makes 44 stops on its way, but you can go out only once.

There are many bicycle, auto and motorcycle rental outlets in the town, and many tourists agree that it is hard to find entertainment more interesting and enjoyable than a bicycle tour from Can Pastilla to Palma.

Can Pastilla is directly accessible from Son San Juan Airport.

Where to live?

Hotels in the town are about three dozen. All hotels in Can Pastilla without exception (even 2 *) are located close to the beaches (if not in the first line - then in the second) - thanks to a very long coastal line.

Among Russian tourists, the most popular hotels are Helios Mallorca 3 * (there are Russian-speaking staff) and Hostal Marbel, a small hotel with 66 rooms. These hotels are located respectively at 100 and 200 meters from the beach. Right next to Helios Mallorca, a bus stops from Can Pastilla to Palma.

The Hotel Java, Nautic Hotel & Spa, BQ Apolo Hotel, BQ Amfora Beach Hotel also make a very good impression on their guests. Regardless of whether you choose 2 * or 4 * hotel, you will only get the most pleasant impressions of rooms and service!

Beach Activities

Officially it is believed that the beaches here are 3 - Playa de Arenal, Playa de Can Pastilla, Playa de Palma, but the boundaries between the beaches are very conditional, it can be said that this is the one in Can Pastilla beach, and this beach is the longest on the island, its length impressive - it is more than 4.5 km. Beaches of Can Pastilla are well equipped, you can find everything for active pastime: beach volleyball, mini golf, all for water sports.

In the harbor there is a special marina for the Maritimo San Antonio de Playa yacht club. From the harbor you can go on a boat trip. Also here you can go water skiing.

And one more pleasant surprise - aqua park "Aquasity" is located directly on the beach (although "officially" it is usually referred to the resort Arenal). This is a large water park (the largest in Mallorca), designed for 3,500 visitors at a time. Working hours are from 10-00 to 17-00, in June and July - to 18-00. The cost of putting a water park for a child is 15, and for an adult - 21 euros, kids under three can have fun for free.

Flea market and other entertainment

On Tuesdays and Thursdays in the town square you can visit the real "flea market"; in Can Pastilla (Mallorca), it differs little from similar markets in other towns - here you can also buy fresh fruits, souvenirs, shoes and clothes, and most importantly - to bargain with the sellers! Or just watch other traded tourists.

But visiting the market is, of course, interesting for adults. And with the children it is better to go to the outskirts of the town, where the famous Palma Aquarium is located, a multiple holder of the title of the best aquarium in Europe. 55 aquariums are divided into 5 thematic zones, where you can get acquainted with the inhabitants of the Mediterranean and all the oceans of the planet. In the aquarium lives more than 8 thousand fish and other inhabitants of the seas and oceans. Add a tropical garden and a pirate ship - a favorite place for recreation and games for all the kids - and you will realize that you have to spend the whole day visiting the aquarium.
