Before every tourist traveling on this island, the question arises - what can you bring with Mallorca? After all, I would like to please myself and my beloved - and something useful, and something whose only benefit - to remind of the happy days spent on the island - and relatives and friends.
Artificial pearls - Mallorca's business card
The first thing that comes to mind with the question of what to bring with Mallorca as a gift is an artificial pearl.

At the factory Majorica produce artificial pearls, which is difficult to distinguish from the present even to specialists. Here it is made from glass balls, which are first covered with a special paste, then with a mixture of chopped fish scales, real pearls, also crushed, and special oil, and then polished. The composition, which covers the artificial "grain", is kept in strict confidence!
Products made from such pearls are collected by hand and supplied with a gold clasp. The product is issued a guarantee for a period of 10 years.
You can buy products from artificial pearls and in a jewelry store, but it is better to do it directly at the factory - firstly, there the authenticity of the product will be beyond doubt, and secondly - the excursion to the factory itself is very interesting. Although at the factory such a product can cost a little more than a store.
Leather: high quality, but extremely cheap!
In principle, we can say that shopping on the island - "amateur": mainly here you can buy a variety of suverins. What to buy in Mallorca is really beneficial - so it's leather goods.
What kind of leather things can you bring with Mallorca? Practically anything, from belts and purses - to high-quality and exquisite footwear. The main productions of leather products are in the city of Inca (for example - in the MUNPER brand store), but, in principle, they can be bought on the island and in other cities.
Quality shoes will do without exaggeration "a penny": where else can you get real high-quality leather loafers for 12 euros or for 20 euros - shoes?
In Mallorca, you can buy leather products from such world famous footwear manufacturers as Lottusse and Bestard, Kollflex and Velleto, Barrats and Farrutx and others. Also here you can buy beautiful leather bags.
The product must have the inscription cuero - this in Spanish means "leather" and confirms the quality of the product.
If you are too lazy to go to Inka - you can easily buy all the leather products you need in the shops of Palma de Mallorca without any problems.
Liqueurs and wine
Liqueurs "Palo", "Sweet Herbs", "Dry Herbs", "Almond Nuts" nowhere else but Mallorca, not to buy.
"Palo" is considered a healing liqueur - it helps to strengthen immunity and improve the digestive process (for this, it should be taken before meals). Prepare it from the root of ginseng, locust bean pods and burnt sugar.
Also in Mallorca, vintage wines and home-made wines are produced, which are almost as good as branded ones: red, white, pink, with a wide variety of bouquets. In the end, you should be comforted by the fact that the restriction on the export of wine from the island is truly beyond the bounds - no more than 90 liters, so you can grab the wine of the most favorite varieties with you!
Food: we try to abstain and not to eat everything on the way
Especially popular are edible souvenirs from Mallorca. First of all, of course, this is Ensamayda, as well as pearls, which is a kind of business card of the island. It is an air cake in the form of a snail packed for convenience into a special box. Ensamay is with different fillings: with custard, cream-brulee, with slices of pumpkin, with cream. Especially popular among tourists are rolls with a filling of candied pumpkin threads with the romantic name "angel hair".
Buy several boxes at once - you can not keep it all and part of the cakes yourself. The shelf life of such a roll is 6 days. Still from the island, you can bring sausage "gatherings". This is a home-made pie-type sausage, made exclusively from pork meat from the local Pork Negre breed with the addition of paprika and red pepper.
This sausage comes in several varieties:
- La Longaniza - a small "circle" or horseshoe weighing 200-300 g;
- La Arissada, weighing about 800 g;
- La Bufeta, weighing 1-2 kg, in the form of a ball;
- La Culana - in the form of a "loaf", weighing 2-3 kg;
- La Bisbe (or Obispo) - also round, weighing from 4 to 30 (!) Kg.
This sausage can be used as an independent dish or as an ingredient for cooking other dishes (for example, it can be baked with chicken).
And it is best served with figs, which you can also take with you, without fear that it will deteriorate, because it can be stored safely for a couple of months thanks to its packaging.
Souvenirs for memory
Also very popular among tourists are statuettes made of olive wood. Usually they depict either animals or people in national Majorcan clothing.
A good souvenir-amulet is the ceramic figure Siouvelles, which is a painted whistle in the form of a Majorcan figure. As the inhabitants of the island themselves believe, if from time to time to blow into such a whistle - demons and evil spirits will not settle in the dwelling.
What else can you bring with Mallorca? All kinds of ceramics (remember: some traditions have been preserved here since the time of the Phoenicians!), Glass (the island is again due to the Phoenicians, and the main traditions of local glass making exist since ancient Roman settlements, today products made in Mallorca successfully compete with Venetian glass), beads, as well as embroidery, lace, fans and, of course, magnets.
What is forbidden to export?
From the island you can not export weapons, historical values, paintings and jewelry. In "limited" quantities you can take out alcohol and cigarettes: wine - no more than 90 (!) Liters, stronger alcohol - no more than 10, and cigarettes - no more than 800 pieces (however, hardly anyone of tourists will come to mind to take out alcohol and tobacco products in such quantities).

- During sales, stores usually run until 22-00 without a break for a siesta.
- Products with a "national flavor" are better to buy in local markets or at a fair. Not only is the cost much cheaper here than in the store - you can still bargain and thoroughly "knock down" the price requested by the seller.
- If the sign of Tax Free or Tax Refund hangs on the door of the store - this means that if you buy in the amount of 90 euros or more, you will receive 11% -13% (this is the amount of VAT) of the amount back.
