Doorphone lock - connection

Long ago, those carefree times, when the doors to the entrance were not locked, or guarded by a grandmother-concierge, are already gone. Today, any more or less decent house has got its own interphone system at the entrance, allowing, albeit relatively arbitrarily, to prevent the appearance of strangers in the entrance. The cornerstone of any such system is an electromagnetic lock that securely holds the door closed. About the features of connecting the lock for the doorphone, we'll talk today.

How to connect the magnetic lock to the intercom?

First, let's figure out whether it is possible at all to cope with the connection of an intercom with an electromagnetic lock without the involvement of specialists. No matter how they tried to convince us in the reverse advertising departments of intercom companies, there is nothing particularly complicated in such installation works. The main thing is to observe the following rules:

  1. Both the intercom and the electromagnetic lock, and the fittings must be manufactured by the same manufacturer. This will help to avoid unpleasant surprises in the form of mismatches in the diameter of parts or lack of vital elements of the circuit.
  2. When working, do not forget about the rules of electrical safety.

In the rest, with a connection scheme and the right tool, even the most inexperienced master can handle the installation of the electromagnetic lock for the doorphone.

Let us consider step by step how the doorphone is connected with an electromagnetic lock:

  1. Mount the body of the castle. Structurally, this lock consists of two elements: the body part, screwed to the door frame, and the anchor fixed on the door leaf. When these two parts are combined, an electromagnetic field arises that keeps the door closed. When a signal comes from the control controller, the voltage from the lock is removed, the magnetic field disappears and the door opens. And if the circuit does not include an uninterruptible power supply, then the door will also open when electricity is cut off. To ensure that all elements of the system work reliably, when purchasing a lock, you must choose the right load for which it is designed (that is capable of holding) and the door closer (an element providing smooth and silent closing). During installation, make sure that the armature and body are strictly opposite to each other and have a minimum clearance in the closed state.
  2. We connect the lock anchor to the control panel. In this case, the wires used for installation must have a cross-section corresponding to the parameters of the lock and for reliability put in the corrugated tube.
