The future famous designer was born May 12 in 1958 in Antwerp (Belgium) in a family of tailors who had their own atelier and a men's clothing store. This is what influenced the choice of the future profession of Dris. From an early age, he attends fashion shows in Milan, Paris and Dusseldorf.
Driss van Noten in 1980 graduated from Antwerp Academy - the best art school in his native Belgium.
In 1986 he successfully presented his first men's collection in London. After that, his name interested the fashion industry. But even after such a good start - orders were insignificant. And all, because the designers-avant-garde were treated with some caution.
After a while, Dris finally decided to create his own brand with Patrick Vangeluwe - his close friend. Fashion collections of clothes Dries Van Noten were issued regularly, as the designer worked hard.
In 1989 he opened his first boutique - "Het Modepaleis". Then there were stores in cities in other countries - in Hong Kong and in Tokyo. The company's concept is the production of everyday clothes, which are sold in stores. Single instances do not exist. But Dris still takes part in high fashion shows. His shops are located around the world, he himself firmly settled in Antwerp. The designer prefers to work in an ethno-style with Indian fabrics and patterns.
The organization of the Council of Fashion Designers of America in 2008 recognized Drya as the Best Designer of the Year.
