Egyptian style

The pyramids, the secrets of the ancient civilization and the beautiful Cleopatra - that's what comes to mind at the word of Egypt to an ordinary person. Modelers go further than muffled associations, they make clothes in the Egyptian style and decorations that remain relevant for many years.

Egyptian style in clothes

Traditional elements of the costume in Ancient Egypt is the Kalaziris (a long tight fitting sarafan on the straps) and a shoulder strap (a cloak that is tightened with a knot on the chest, leaving the shoulder open). The outfits of modern Egyptians are more modest - this is a long black dress (galabey) and the same color shawl. Naturally inspires designers more Ancient Egypt.

What is characteristic for clothes in the Egyptian style?

Clothing in the Egyptian style is distinguished by straight lines of cut. Usually dresses trace attachment to geometric figures - trapezoid, rectangle or triangle. Geometry can be expressed both in cuts, and in the decor of the outfit. Drapery is often used, but clothing is never raspashnoy. The main colors are white, gold, turquoise, dark blue, green and red. Geometric patterns, feathers, lotus flowers, images of the pyramids and gods of Ancient Egypt are often used to decorate the costumes. Also, the style of Ancient Egypt can be traced in the original decor of the dress - bibs decorated with beads, beads, embroidery and even metal plates.

But most of all (and most often) we are not interested in casual clothes made in any ethnic style, but for special occasions. For example, how do wedding dresses look in the Egyptian style? Yes, in general, for such dresses, the rules are the same - straight lines, the triangle or trapezoid can be clearly seen in the shape. Often for wedding dresses, a columnar shape is used. But whatever the style, the Egyptian-style wedding dress is obliged to sit perfectly, emphasizing the femininity of its owner. The main difference of these dresses will be a symbolic ornament, for example, a lotus flower. This plant many generations of Egyptians venerate almost as sacred.

Egyptian dresses are rather closed (both in ancient times and in modern Egypt), it is clear that this fashion designers do not particularly like. Therefore, stylizations can be more open than traditional outfits, although a mini dress will not match the Egyptian style.

Egyptian Style Jewelry

Since ancient times Egyptians liked to complement their image with various accessories and ornaments - beautiful belts, bracelets, necklaces and earrings, without all this Cleopatra and difficult to imagine. Of course, her jewelry was expensive, the ladies more beautifully decorated themselves with products from less valuable metals. Ornaments from precious metals were supplemented with amethysts, turquoise, Afghan lapis lazuli and garnets.

But, despite their love for "trinkets", the Egyptians were not like New Year trees (than often our compatriots sin, putting on everything that was found in the casket). And all thanks to the taste and strict rule - all the jewelry was selected as accurately as possible to the side - the colors, the number of jewelery on the dress and even the very mood of the dressing lady were taken into account.

Characteristic for Egypt can be called decorations with religious symbols (Ankh, eye Ra), wide round necklaces with stones (this is also related to religion, the circle symbol of the Sun and the god Ra) and wide metal bracelets. Also often there were ornaments with the image of a scarab - a symbol of wealth. The same symbolism is often used to create a tattoo in the Egyptian style.

Hairstyles in the Egyptian style

That any stylization was successful, it is necessary to think about the dress, and about jewelry, and about the hair. What did the inhabitants of Ancient Egypt build on their heads? Often these were small pigtails, laid in a trapezoidal hairstyle. Notable Egyptians decorated their hair with products made of precious materials. The Egyptian style of the hairdo can be called a modern square, as the inhabitants of the country of the pharaohs were the ancestors of this haircut.

As you can see, the Egyptian style can always be recognized by clear lines and strict geometric shapes. Consider this fact if you want to become a resident of ancient Egypt for one day.
