Festival of jam in Moscow

From 8 to 17 August in Moscow, the International Jam Festival is held. This holiday is dedicated to the traditions of its manufacture in various parts of the world. The participants of the celebration gather from 15 countries of the world, as well as 40 regions of Russia.

Thanks to the organized holiday timed to the Day of Jam, Muscovites and visitors of the city can try exotic kinds of delicacies, and also enjoy traditional and classical options. In different parts of the city there are themed tents where you can taste and immediately get the jam you liked on the spot. For example, in Novopushkinsky park you can try unusual jam from dandelions, eggplants, roses and even cones. On the site, which is located on Manezhnaya Square, there is a tent called "Paradise Garden". Here you will find jam from Thai fruits. The organizers of the festival are invited to the "Oriental Bazaar" on the Arbat, and treat them with thorn and cedar jam.

Especially for the opening of the festival of jam in Moscow, the city is also decorated with unusual art objects. The main trading floors are marked with large plastic jars with jam. Thematic painting in the form of honey or berries is done by specially invited artists, and the surface of the jar, to protect it from moisture, is varnished. Another embodied idea is the huge head of the cook, inside of which there are various utensils - biscuits, spoons and spatulas. Having visited this installation on VDNH, everyone can solve a riddle - what does the cook think about?

Guests of the festival will amaze and surprise not only the variety of jam, but also an interesting thoughtful scenario of the holiday. In one of the days of the celebrations in the center of the capital, "sweet excursions" are organized. Walking from the Arbat to the Revolution Square or from Klimentovsky pereulok to the Crimean embankment, the guide will tell you about the history and traditions of Moscow sweets, Moscow legends, and Russian confectioners.

On each site, daily culinary as well as creative master classes are held. For example, on Tverskaya Square participants of the project "Cornucopia" of all comers teach the preparation of marzipan jewelry in the form of strawberries, and present gingerbread with strawberry glaze. And on the Manezh Square, professionals show how to cook chocolate fondue, fruits and nuts in caramel, and also sweet cotton wool.

Visitors to the jam festival in Moscow can participate in mass games in old Russian games and ventures. Master classes at this time are so diverse that every guest will find an interesting and useful lesson. For example, you can learn how to decorate napkins, candlesticks or focus on tasting products from the dough - gingerbread and bagels.
