For plaster mixtures are not only those that are used for decorative finishing, but also those whose purpose - leveling the surfaces of walls and ceiling inside the premises. One of them is plaster-based plaster. In order to have a more complete understanding of this material, let us consider some characteristics of gypsum plaster .
Technical characteristics of gypsum plaster
As already mentioned above, this plaster mixture is used only for internal works, but in comparison with other, more traditional materials for plastering surfaces used in such cases (there are cement and cement-lime solutions), has a number of undeniable advantages. So ... Gypsum plaster is easy and convenient to use - after applying to the surface to be treated, the plaster is simply leveled with the rule, focusing on the beacons. Further:
- Drying time. Gypsum plaster dries faster than other traditional mixtures, but it does not shrink and, as a consequence, there is no cracking of the plastered surface after the plastering of the walls (ceilings);
- is more elastic and has a higher adhesion value (in comparison with the same cement plaster);
- it can be said that it is more economical, since it is applied only in two layers (for comparison - cement plaster should be applied not less than in 4 layers).
What else should I say about universal gypsum plaster? Such high performance qualities this plaster mixture possesses due to additives in the form of modified water-soluble polymers. Can be used for plastering both in living rooms (rooms, corridors), and in rooms with special conditions, for example, in bathrooms and kitchens.
