Hose for vacuum cleaner

When we buy a vacuum cleaner , first of all we pay attention to its capacity, on which the suction force depends, on the availability of all sorts of filters and brushes, but the hose for the vacuum cleaner, in general, is left without attention. But this is an incorrect approach to buying, because the quality of the material depends on the durability of the work, as well as the ease of use.

What are the hoses?

In appearance, all the hoses for vacuum cleaners are almost the same, but on closer examination, it turns out that this is far from the case. The only similarity is that each hose for the vacuum cleaner is corrugated, because it can be stretched and compressed, which is necessary for the convenience of working with a vacuum cleaner. On this "identity" ends, and the differences begin:

  1. Vacuum cleaners are supplied with hoses of different diameters, and even from one manufacturer they are not always the same, which means they are not interchangeable. The suction diameter depends on the diameter of the hose - the smaller it is, the better absorbed dust and dust.
  2. In addition to the diameter, the length of the hose is of no small importance: the longer it is, the easier it is to work with a vacuum cleaner, but a short hose will not bring anything except inconvenience. Do not be afraid that the increase in length will lose power, because the engine of a particular device is designed for this.
  3. The hose for the washing vacuum cleaner differs somewhat from its dry fellow. The material and its structure is similar to the usual one, but it is additionally provided with a thin tube for water supply, as well as a trigger-pistol, the click on which releases a water jet. All this extra "equipment" is attached to the hose and telescopic tube of the vacuum cleaner with the help of plastic holders.
  4. Also there are hoses with a handle on which there is a kind of control panel. It can be mechanical or electronic - on batteries. With the help of such a hose, it is easy to adjust the suction force without unnecessary tilting to the vacuum cleaner.
  5. Cheap hoses are usually made of ordinary polypropylene and quite soft to the touch. The disadvantage is that during cleaning, such a hose can be pinched, which prevents the unit from operating normally.
  6. Another type of plastic hose is a rigid hose, which is so rigid that it can even turn the vacuum cleaner around with careless turning. Such a hose often has to be changed, since it bursts in the bend.
  7. The quality hose of the vacuum cleaner is moderately hard, and metal rings are inserted inside. This is the so-called reinforced hose, that is, with wire fittings, which prolongs the service life and does not allow the hose to bend.

Naturally, the more hose devices, the higher its cost and this should be taken into account, because during operation it may be necessary to replace the hose with a new one.

Hose operating rules for vacuum cleaner

For the hose to last as long as possible, it should be handled carefully and competently. First of all it concerns storage. Not everyone puts the vacuum cleaner in a special box with compartments, but in vain, because they are designed for compact and safe storage of parts and accessories.

If the hose remains attached to the vacuum cleaner, you need to make sure that it does not just roll around, but was inserted into a special groove on the vacuum cleaner body. It is also important not to allow children to play with a hose, which can bend or break it.

It is very important for the hose to be cleaned from the detergent vacuum cleaner . This means flushing it with running clean water after use, and quality drying, eliminating water stagnation and internal corrosion.

In addition to all possible failures associated with violation of the integrity of the hose or breakage of fasteners, there is a situation where it is unclear why the hose of the vacuum cleaner whistles during operation.

Most often, the large rubbish jammed inside is a paper or a cellophane bag. As a rule, such a whistle is accompanied by a decrease in thrust. To make sure of a blockage, you just need to look at the light in the hose hole, stretching it horizontally. For cleaning, you need a thin long rod or steel wire.
