Preparing for a child's baptism is a rather troublesome business. In addition to the list of purchases and the choice of godparents, it is necessary to understand in advance how the child's christening passes, so that nothing of church traditions becomes news for parents on the very day of baptism.
How are girls christening?
- In general, according to church rules, parents should not be present at baptism, but since this requirement is not strict, most parents still observe such an important moment personally.

- A cross and a special christening shirt are put on the child.
- Then the priest cuts off the hair of the baby in a cross-shaped manner (those who know how the christening happens are not so surprised). Do not worry, cut very tiny strands.
- The infant is flocked around the font three times, thus completing the rite of baptism.
- After this, the priest brings the boy to the altar, and applies the girl to the icon of the Mother of God.
