In fact, I do not ask myself to grow a fruit, I often put bones instead of a trash can in a pot, and after a couple of weeks something is already turning green. But because of this unsystematic nature, only a small part of the plants are pleased for a long time with their appearance. But recently, in my hands was an ossicle of avocado and cultivation of this tree decided to take seriously. If you are also interested in how to grow avocado from a bone, I share my experience.
How to plant an avocado stone?
Before thinking about how to grow an avocado from a bone and how to germinate and plant it, you need to select this avocado correctly. A little unripe or ripe fruit for our purposes is not good, the flesh of a ripe avocado gently squeezes under pressure. Select the avocado, carefully extract the stone. What to do next, sprouting or planting, and in general can you plant an avocado bone without any preliminary preparation? It turns out that you can, but there is one trick - put a bone with a blunt end into the ground, sprinkling it up to half, otherwise the bone can rot. Further we water the earth, not sparing water, the plant loves it. Approximately 1-2 weeks, a sprout should appear. This method is not bad, but not very reliable, so it is better to pre-germinate the bone first.
How to grow a seed of an avocado?
A more reliable way to grow avocado from a bone, is to do as with any vegetable culture - to germinate the bone before planting. To do this, you need to put the stone in water, so that it is only sideways submerged in the liquid. To do this, you can come up with a design similar to that used for growing onions on the window, but the cardboard base has to be changed frequently - the paper becomes soaked. And you can build a fantastic design of toothpicks. To do this, in the lower part (the one that is blunt) the parts of the bone make 4 holes. To insert a toothpick into the holes and attach this structure in a glass. If the toothpicks are placed vertically, the sticks will rest on the bottom of the glass, if horizontal, then the toothpicks are well attached to the edges of the container. Be sure to ensure that the water was only the bottom of the stone. The average germination period is 2 weeks.
