But since such products are mostly thin-walled, the question becomes how to properly seal the inflatable pool at home, and whether it is realistic to do it yourself without resorting to specialized help. How to seal an inflatable pool on the seam?
Perhaps the most common marriage on such inflatable products as circles, mattresses, as well as swimming pools is poor-quality suturing, which come into disrepair very soon. Often, if the producer is dishonest, it is simply not rational to struggle with this - it is better to buy something stronger.
If you do not know how to glue an inflatable pool with glue, it's better than waterproof rubber glue for this business, nothing came up. Although it will dry longer than others, its efficiency is several times higher, especially where it concerns high humidity, and the pool is exactly that case.
You can try to remedy the situation by using glue such as "Moment", designed for such products, to glue the dispersed sides. But from all the known "Superglue" it is better to refuse, since with PVC and other similar materials it is rarely compatible, and can only exacerbate the problem. When it is decided what to seal the inflatable pool, when it tore at the seam, and all the materials at hand, you should work in several stages:
- Remove / dry water from the surface to be treated and degrease with vinegar or alcohol, but it is better to abandon the use of the solvent;
- Lubricate both sides with glue and combine them, press firmly for several hours, using oppression.
It is best to try the quality of work not earlier than a day, as different manufacturers have their own time for drying the glue.
How to seal a large hole in the inflatable pool?
If you have managed to make a big hole in the pool, whether it's the bottom or the wall - this is both bad and good news at the same time. Bad - already because the rest at the water will have to be postponed, but the good is that it is easier to glue such places than the seams.
Complete with expensive pool models, as a rule, there is a repair kit, with which you can quickly solve the problem. If such is not available, it can be purchased at a store for fishermen or motorists.
From the improvised means for repairing the pool, reinforced scotch tape, blue tape or a piece of the old bike chamber will come in handy. Before the application of the glue, both surfaces are degreased, but it is better not to scratch the nest itself, as there is a great risk of rubbing an even larger hole, because some of them are very thin, especially children's ones.
The glue is applied to both sides, both to the pool and to the patch, which should well cover the hole with a margin. It is best to use a cold vulcanizer for a car or other oppression after gluing.
Henceforth, so that this does not happen, under the bottom before filling the pool with water spread a large soft cloth or folded in several layers of cellophane. This at least somehow protects against punctures, although it does not save the side parts. To ensure that the material from which the pool is made does not spoil as long as possible, it must be stored at plus temperature, avoiding sudden changes.
Cats and other pets near the pool should not be, because their sharp claws in a matter of seconds can spoil the rest of the whole company. Children need to explain each time the rules of behavior in the inflatable pool, because this remarkable human invention is very unstable to mechanical damage.
