Laminate laying technology

If you want to lay the laminate floor yourself, you need to follow the technology. Without this, you will not achieve a good and lasting result. By the way, it is not recommended to choose this type of coating for bathrooms and other rooms with high humidity.

Technology of laying laminate with their own hands

The first thing you need to do is to make a laminate in the room where it will spread, and leave it there for 48 hours. This is necessary in order for it to adapt to the humid and temperature conditions of the room.

As for the floors, they must be pre-prepared - aligned and dried. The maximum allowable base difference should not exceed two millimeters.

Lay laminate should be in the direction of the window, so that the light from it fell along the long part of the slats. So the seams will be less noticeable.

It is necessary to lay a substrate on the floor surface, which acts as a shock absorber and a vapor barrier. It can be 2 mm thick foamed polyethylene.

After installing special wedges along all the walls, you can proceed directly to laying the cover. The distance between the wall and the laminate is necessary for the stock in case of expansion of the material under the influence of moisture. We put the first strip in the corner at the window.

According to the technology of the correct laying of the laminate, the second bar we insert into the groove first. If necessary, you can cut the excess length of the laminate with an acute construction knife.

We proceed to laying the second row. According to the technology of laying the laminate, we connect the grooves on the long side of the bands at an angle, then we bring everything in a strictly horizontal position. The length of the strip of the laminate should not be less than 25 cm.

The next strip is again connected by grooves on the long side, stacked, and using a lug (a bar for padding) and a rubber hammer, we ensure that the laminate densely enters the adjacent groove along the narrow side.

To drive the extreme near the transverse wall of the strip of laminate we use another special device - a metal bracket. And again with the help of a hammer we insert grooves into each other.

We continue in the same way to lay the row behind the series.

When the width of the substrate ends, we lay another strip of foamed polyethylene, and join the joints with adhesive tape.

We continue to lay the laminate, until the whole floor is not laid. After that, it remains only to glue the plinth.
