Everyone in the house has several chairs or stools . They, as a rule, have a fairly simple design and a very primitive structure, so they do not produce a great aesthetic load. To somehow decorate these simple interior items, you can make cute decorative cushions for the seats or back of the chair. To sew the pillows on the chairs with your own hands, you will need the edges of the fabric left from the previous cut, thread and a little patience.
How to sew a pillow on a chair?
To make a soft cushion, you will need the following materials:
- colored patches of small sizes;
- batting or thin foam rubber (you need to stuff the product);
- one big button;
- scissors, thread, sewing machine.
Tailoring will occur in several stages:
- Before you sew a pillow on a chair, you need to cut 12 equilateral triangles with a side length of 20 cm. Thus, the product will be 40 cm in size.
- Then sew the flaps in pairs with each other. The result is 6 parts.
- Sew each of 3 triangles, and then connect the two halves of the front side.
- Now you need to cut foam / batting. To do this, you need to fold the face of the pillow in half (you get a semicircle) with the marks on the lining.
- Sew the foam rubber cut to the inner side along the contours of the scraps with a double stitch.
- Open a similar sized part for the bottom of the product. It will also need a part for the side. Its size is determined based on the overall dimensions.
- Sew 4 narrow strips. They will act as strings.
- Assemble the product with sewing pins. Sew it around the perimeter, leaving a small hole from the wrong side. Turn out the workpiece through this hole and fill the pad with the batting / foam rubber.
- Take a large button and sew it with a cloth. Place it in the center of the pillow and sew.
Your pillow is ready!
