Mendy's hands

Mendy (also called mehendi, mehandi, mandy) is an ancient art for painting henna skin, common in eastern countries. It is believed that such a painting can bring a girl and a woman happiness in their personal lives.

Mendy drawings on hands

In Europe, this art, which has been in its history for more than 5000 years, has come in recent years and has become widely used as a way of decorating the body. For the first time such drawings began to wear stars, and now it is popular among ordinary people. Of course, now the patterns of Mendi no longer carry the sacred significance that they had and still have in the eastern cultures. For European girls this is more a way to express oneself, to stand out from the crowd. Mendy's painting can be of an arbitrary nature and represent geometric patterns, floral ornaments, or even some drawings of animals.

In modern salons tattoo menti still has the name "bio-tattoo" or "temporary tattoo". The master performs it with a special paste with henna, which, depending on the consistency, gives the picture a color from dark-cinnamon to rusty. With proper care, such a temporary-tattoo can last for 2 to 3 weeks on the skin, gradually brightening and flushing. Although the procedure for drawing a picture is fairly simple, performing a Mendi in the cabin will be quite expensive.

Mendy at home

Photos from Mendi on hands look very beautiful and unusual, which means it's time to try to learn how to draw it yourself. Drawing Mendi can be applied both on the palm, and on its back side, on the legs and any part of the body.

To make a paste for mendi, you need to keep the hour on low heat for 2 hours. Ground coffee, 2 tsp. black tea and 500 ml of water. Then 30-40 grams of henna powder should be added to this mixture and vigorously stirred so that there are no lumps. The resulting paste should have a consistency of thick sour cream. In the paste, you also need to add 2 tsp. lemon juice.

After the paste has cooled, you can apply the drawing with a brush, a stick or a confectionery bag (which roses are made on the cake). Before applying, the skin should be degreased, since the pattern applied to the oily skin will be kept less. Next, the prepared mundi is allowed to dry for 8-12 hours. Immediately after drying it can have a bright orange color, which eventually darkens, acquiring the necessary dark brown tint . If you are afraid that you will not be able to accurately perform the Mendy pattern, it is better to choose an uncomplicated geometric pattern or to draw a special stencil on paper.
