Monastery of Tango


14 km north of Thimphu , near the mountain of Cheri, is the Tango monastery. It is one of the most famous Buddhist temples in Bhutan . Features of the monastery

The name of his monastery Tango was in honor of Hayagriva, a Buddhist deity who has a horse's head. This is how the word "Tango" is translated from the official language of Bhutan dzong-keh. The architecture of the building is made in the style of dzong, very popular in the territory of Bhutan and Tibet.
